Nikhil_cric Posted September 13, 2025 Posted September 13, 2025 CPL and The Hundred have been of a very low quality. At this point, only IPL, SA20 and then PSL have some standards.

Atleast they are blesseed with some big hitters. 100 was a good success though in terms of atmosphere. IPL owners are goig to make it even bigger. May turn it into T20 Edited September 13, 2025 by vvvslaxman

Casual viewer sees both are gimmicks and do not understand if some one take lets say 3 wkts in 15 balls and gives away x amount of runs, or score 50 of 30 balls what is the reference. They would just think there are less balls to face so batter are just swinging their bat if it connects it good if not does not matter, same thing they wont understand what it mean n balls m wkts, ppl understand 3 over 3 wkts and 7 rpo. Hundred has good batting talent and they are getting good nz players too, eng batters who are not playing or are 2nd string are 1st choice batter in many other t20 leagues around the world, so they have talent just need to sort the format out. Think Harmison former eng fast bowler also said this 100 balls thing confuses player. CPL is now directly clahlsing with hundred and is sandwiched mcl and hundred plus they lost jamzica as cpl team thats also hurt their vriwership, saw few highlight some teams have huge fan base ppl are coming out in teams' jerseys and enjoying the environment, plus they still have some good hitter but it was not like it use to be previously that IPL teams look for big hitters from that league. psl was only good for 2 years (may be 3 at max yrs) when player were seeing as a place of showcase their talent for ipl scouts or may be some ipl scouts/players' agents were asking them to play psl so that they an make a case that they will be able to play in Ind conditions or may be last moment injury replacement. Now with IPL franchises have a larger ecosystem they do not have to do that they have ilt20 to show they can play in Ind like conditions plus. BBL was going down but its resurgent again, Viatality t20 is also resurgent again, think ecb gave less attention in last few years to it with hundred in priority but this season its good good crowd, good coverage and broadcasting with speedometer everything, Edited September 14, 2025 by tapandrun

They had Kane Williamson and Steve Smith as overseas batsmen with no secondary skills in 2025. That's as bad as it gets. Sonny Baker was a top pacer there and we saw how his low trajectory got whacked when they played him in international cricket. BBL is not resurgent. They have actually signed Babar and Rizwan as overseas batsmen haven't they? Edited September 14, 2025 by Nikhil_cric

Smith and williamson are still the biggest name of intnl cricket, think williamson last played ipl was 2024 so jst 1 season back. There are no establish t20 stars right now so they are still the big names and for some purist they are best batters in the world. If Ind players are nt available who would you pick to make some waves or bring attention ??? Most leagues will be happy to them in their teams, IPL has moved away or trying to move away because there already are Ind retired players playing and if they add intnl retired player too it will be seen as league of retired players , so IPL teams are intentionally moving on from Intnl retired player BBL has some kind of deal (not % sure)but they contracts pak players, shadab khan played before any1 knew him, rauf played when he was unknown there 1 more this season cannot recall the name. harshal patel was highest wkt taker one season and he was not that good and got hit fr 4/6s in intnl cricket, it happens its shorter format, Most teams/coaches struggle to say what makes a good t20 bowlers. All these specialist t20 pace bowlers last 1-2 seasons and vanishes. Edited September 14, 2025 by tapandrun

Williamson has been a terrible T20 batsman for years now. Despite going H2H with IPL this year, the PSL managed to get Rassie, Holder, Seifert , James Vince, Perera, Willey, Gudakesh, Max Bryant , Mitchell Owen, Linde, Bosch, Alzarri , Luke Wood, Finn,Kusal Mendis, Chapman, Jamieson , Akeal. That's an impressive lost of overseas especially when they have only 6 teams. The Hundred should be doing way better than what they did.

And in respect to IPL he was unknown, think he was not in the PSL draft in the 1st place they got him with some1's replacement. His name just came in the scene because of this season with 2 tons and 1 of them in BBL final. In hundred each team can have a maximum of three overseas players in their squad and can field up to three overseas players in any match. If there can be only 3 overseas players think this is good collection plus cpl is going on so wi are not available , plus sa vs Aus series rules out those player too Team Overseas Players Birmingham Phoenix Men Trent Boult; Adam Milne; Tim Southee London Spirit Men Kane Williamson (captain); David Warner; Ashton Turner Manchester Originals Men Heinrich Klaasen; Noor Ahmad; Rachin Ravindra Northern Superchargers Men David Miller; Mitchell Santner; Ben Dwarshuis Oval Invincibles Men Rashid Khan; Jason Behrendorff; Donovan Ferreira Southern Brave Men Faf du Plessis; Finn Allen; Michael Bracewell Trent Rockets Men Marcus Stoinis; Lockie Ferguson; George Linde Welsh Fire Men Steve Smith; Riley Meredith; Chris Green Edited September 14, 2025 by tapandrun
