Such a shame that he failed in 3 of SENA nations. Otherwise his stature would be much higher.

Pre Bazball pitches, post 2019 Aus pitches have been tough.

Ultimately home games, weak opponents are where players score bulk of their international runs. If those are dried up, then there is very little opportunity to get to top form.

 

Runs are runs whether intl or domestic. Weak team bowlers are same like Ranjis. They can get in form there.

I think Hardik rubbed you the wrong way during that GT-MI swap. And Pujara officially done.

We have so many good players so whoever does well will support those guys. 
 

I think the dynamics in cricket is changing (including all year around cricket over multiple formats) so unless someone becomes a “superstar”, we will see a lot of players being rotated. 
 

We could be moving to an era where how the team performs becomes the key versus who plays. India had that concept where a player mattered the most (at times even seen as the game itself) but that line of thinking will change as we get more and more talented players. 
 

Yes, BCCI will do its best to create superstars to drive the fan following but fans will become more open.

Gill's performance is forgotten in that innings. Was hitting the bowlers all around when Pujara was getting hit, That set the platform for Pant

Had his limitations but he was great servant of Indian cricket.
