They are now a heavily conscripted force - and each soldier the only child of the parent. The last hope war they fought in 1979 - Vietnam got the better off them - killing as many soldiers and pushing them out. They have not seen war since 1979 - just expensive and fancy toys don’t win wars. If they were half as good as they are trying to project, they would surely have the balls to mess with Taiwan ( size of Sri Lanka )

Mariyam Posted September 3, 2025 Posted September 3, 2025 The USA has to have the worst military among all the major nations. In spite of all kinds of intelligence, they couldn't prevent a 9/11. They got trounced by a bunch of goat herders in Afghanistan. They burned farms and forests using Agent Orange and lost to essentially paddy farmers. Sure they beat Iraq, but lost the plot once they occupied the country. Had to flee from there too. The US as a military or an economy simply does not command that kind of respect anymore. It is in a terminal decline. Divided at home and with a reactive short term foreign policy. We are living right through the last gasps of the US as a super power.

At least since last 40 years, they are yet to be involved in a serious military conflict.

Kargil was a strict localised conflict as well. Except Russians and Ukranians, or Israelis Iran.. most countries lack modern experience of war yet. Armenia and Azeris are other notable examples. It was a blue print for Russia Ukraine initially Op Sindoor was a snippet that how a modern war would look like. Lesser emphasis on infantry but more about technological and aerial aspects. Naval warfare is even more devastating these days. Barely any country has tested those waters. That still counts, it need not be a full scale war. Chinese troops are not familiar with border skirmishes either. All conflicts irrespective of the scale helps in developing military strategy. Nothing else can substitute experience here. The difference between S400's success in Op Sindoor and flopping in Ukraine conflict is purely strategy.
