Constructing Test innings is totally different. Don't want white ball to corrupt his technique as of now. IPL is already unavoidable.

No it is not especially for a player like Jaiswal. He should play his natural attacking game in all formats. He has enough talent to judge  and assess what he needs to leave in tests.

Head is another example, he plays his natural game in all formats but he leaves some deliveries in tests.

He can learn to construct test  innings on the side.  Keeping a player like him away in white ball is a crime. Jaiswal has the audaciousness of Abhishek, Vaibhav and has the maturity of a very good test bat and the clutch temperament/ confidence of Ro and Ko. Wasting him away is a punishable offense.

He's struggling with that right now. Getting out repeatedly on cut shot.

Head is far more experienced.

Cannot expect him to score 100s when team totals are not reaching 150.He failed in first test, didn't he score 175 in Delhi test.

He was top scorer in this test for India n first innings. Facing 550 deficit mentally wears you down.

Prioritizing Tests is not wasting him away. We have enough options for white ball. But not so for Tests.

pitches like in first test which are the norm usually are not conducive for daddy 100s or even 100s lol. 50-70 is usually a great score on these pitches.

You don’t go with a lesser option to protect 1 player in 1 format . Jaiswal needs to be our all format great not the next Rahane/Pujara.

Those are not lesser options. Abhishek has already proven himself in T20.

You are focussing on individual not team requirements.  Jaiswal's success in Tests is far too important to risk playing him in white ball where we anyway have good backups

Openers are bound to get out early on those wickets  sometimes even against spinners with hard new ball. I will not hold first test failures against him.

lol why would he replace Abhishek? He can replace Gill or SKY who is also getting old and also is out of form, while he is not a keeper I would say he is better than Samson in T20 and let’s not even get started on Jitesh etc.

in the bench maybe Vaibhav can be tried, that’s about it.

That is T20 team. I am talking about ODIs.

Samson and Abhishek is a good opening pair in T20. No need to tamper it

Jaiswal just needs to mould his game on Sehwag as defence is not his 1st go to option. That will be a decent career, he has already done decent away from home as it is.

I don’t think he has the defensive game properly developed, he seems to get out innocuous deliveries.

I am sure opening with Rohit coming up in ODI’s will help him further.

Rohit landed with captaincy in all formats with zero defensive game and zero success away from home in tests.Rohit was as good as a tailender in away series except couple of knocks in England.

Jaiswal is  million times better upgrade over Rohit and that useless Rahul already in tests.Jaiswal will be fine  in all formats as long as coaches let him be himself.
