Rohit’s entire approach in recent years has been non selfish aggressive cricket that has won us many matches He was "aggressive" and "not selfish" coz he was the captain and knew he couldn't be dropped even if he averaged in single digit the way he did in BGT or against NZ at home. Now he doesn't have that luxury and he's back to form. Manucrick 1

As I said both of them still are best two batsmen in the team. If they want to play in 2027 ,they will be more than just be fine. GOAT is still the best batsman to hold batting lineup together and Rohit is still the biggest hitter in the team. Only thing they should be doing is playing domestic cricket to keep their fitness. Or they should be kicked out. They can’t walk into the team cold. nevada, Stan AF, Vk1 and 2 others 5
Prabhdeep Singh Posted October 25 Posted October 25 (edited) Rohit looks great as ever, need to cancel test retirement and make a play for number 3 spot and play some ranji matches. When Rohit in form he is on a different level to the rest. He is fitter now. Edited October 25 by Prabhdeep Singh sage 1

Question is can he survive till oct '27, if he doesn't then needs to make way for others to get ready and if somehow he does survive then can he win ODI wc in SA ?
putrevus Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Some idiots don’t realize these two are not stopping anyone. They are not obligated to retire so some bozo like Sai will be gifted batting spot. They are not playing other two formats.Rohit was in and out of the side till 2013 after making his debut in Odis 2008. Kohli started his career as opener and Rohit in middle order.Sachin started in middle order. New players don’t have to play in their chosen slot, they can work their way to their favorite slots.Kohli was number 4 in 2011. iluv80085 1

He is still good enough on paper but now we went without him in UK tour and we can’t move back now. Fans need to stop their internal emotions about RoKo and think about team first. They are good for 50 overs as of today but please stop asking to bring them back in test. They announced retirement and it was their decision. We move on. We have found next set of test players whom we are going to plah musical chairs with and Rohit and Virat are history in that format.

Their legacy is not going to change by winning and losing 2027 world cup.But they deserve to be informed and given a choice to continue or hang up. 2027 is long ways to go so much cricket has to be played till then. How well the BCCI, team and fans quickly moved on from them post their T20 and Test retirement is the biggest fear of RoKo fan/ PR club. Such legends haven't been missed even once as the T20 team has won everything since they retired and the Test team is settling well too. Will immediately happen with ODIs as well. Yashasvi, Sai, Tilak, Parag, Paddikal (all < 25) are all waiting for a proper run and would only raise the bar for our ODI unit. Ultimate_Game and Cricketics 1 1
figo6762 Posted October 25 Posted October 25 It doesn’t matter what Rohit and Kohli does .. they can score double hundreds for the next 10 games every game .. still need to go .. they need to set an example of when to leave so Gill will do it , Jaiswal will do it when their time comes .. India is blessed with Talent waiting, please make use of it . These 2 asses can’t decide that they won’t play Ranji and they will only play Internationals to warm up .. BS.. king like attitude . and ppl that support them are just their court jesters .. Ultimate_Game 1

They will raise the bar and you are right about fans moving on but we also must recognize that they all younger crop of players are battling with each other as well. Someone like Iyer, Gill etc they all need to make daddy hundreds or big knocks in this ODI format where they are closing out games or taking opposition out of the game like what Rohit and Kohli have done over the years in this format. So we stick with Kohli and Rohit in LOI and others should 0lay around them, but, and this is important, Kohli and Rohit can’t keep coming to series without game practice like they did here in Australia to score in dead rubber. Kohli sucked in 2 ODI’s and Rohit albeit scored runs in two games, was scratchy in the first two games. Their experience carried them in this series, thats all. They m7/5 show as well that they have some game practice before coming into these series or else they are costing us initial games in future tournaments/series as well which will put more pressure on younger players to perform. putrevus 1
