Look at that list and where they come from. Each of these girls are Superwoman. Kudos to their parents and their early coaches and supporters. To come from such parts of India fighting against so many odds. May they give hope to millions other young girls and boys across India to keep chasing their dream

Deserved winners having ended the winning streak of the formidable Aussies in the SF! It would have been a travesty for another team to bag the title with India doing all the hard work! I was concerned about the players being emotionally drained after such a monumental win but they put such fears to rest in the final. From going to the brink of elimination having to bag a must win game to going all the way and winning the title is quite a come back!

TBH I have been far from being any kind of fan of the women's team after their 2017 final loss and a bunch of other losses! I was bitter about their fumbles at the last hurdle and considered them chokers like South Africa but this team has actually turned their failures into stepping stones for success!

I am ready to put my hand up and say that after 3 consecutive losses in Group stage i thought it was back to business for Womens team and they were not capable of getting across the mental hurdle of beating SENA countries but their epic performances in Semis and Finals shows that if they apply themselves they can beat anyone on their day!

Congratulations Indian women! I hope this is the 1983 moment for womens cricket in India and sponsors and tv broadcasts start pump money in which means more money for grassroots cricket and girls across the country can now believe there is a system in place for them to succeed

I just hope the President/PM hosts a grand reception for them and their parents and childhood coaches are invited as well. Those invisible heroes deserve their own limelight.

And BCCI does a proper roadshow on Marine Drive.

Not required. Too many stampedes happening in India. Cricket event related stampede in RCB ceremony, few south indian movie star events related stampede recently and then other stampedes not related to cricket or movies like religious gatherings in AP etc.

Just the dinner with president and PM should be fine as that is a private event and wont result in crowd gathering.

If it is managed with the right protocols and security in place then why not- RCB caused deaths only happened because everything happened lats minute without proper planning and risk assessments- it was just to cash in Kohli presence as he wanted to leave for London asap

These  open bus parades leads to closure of major roads in Mumbai and causes too much traffic diversion and inconvenience in a city with high population density. Last time their journey from Airport to Wankhede was a very long route as well. BCCI is a private  organization. Like Standard Chartered holds a marathon in Mumbai every year, it is done on Sunday, planned in morning hours and also  notified atleast one or two months in advance. Will BCCI follow the protocol and conduct it after months of information, on holiday, so that there is no inconvenience to anyone.

Loving Aussie disappointment.

Sure they won WC F and last BGT.

But we have this SF win, 24 T20 WC Rohit onslaught, CT SF and the Olympics hockey win which derailed their campaign.

There is none better than back to back Test series win. Especially Gabba one will always take the cake..   I always loved the grade cricketer reaction after that loss lol

Healy saying DY Patil had red soil wicket and dew doesn't affect red soil much, that is very sporting of her, giving Indian ladies full credit.

But my question is why didn't we have a red soil wicket on Nov 19? Why not have something which minimizes impact of dew? The SF against NZ was on a typical Wankhede red soil pitch.
