That was because of anti incumbency, KCR won since 2014 on secular vote.

We think about Category 4 votes being split between TMC, Congress, AIMIM .... but Category 1 - should they have any sense of pride in Bengal can theoretically themselves alone deliver a majority to BJP. If the events of the last 10 years have not opened their eyes, then these bhadralok morons deserve everything that comes their way. And its not pre-2014 anymore, the opposition of today, isn’t the flag-bearer of secularism or democracy . They aren’t get away by just abusing BJP. The onus is for them to prove themselves, based on their own actions, achievements. Yet, its 12 years of zero, nothing, with same old ideas, same old leaders, of the opposition today

In 2031, Muslims will have headstart in 100 odd seats, why would they keep voting for TMC? For them, TMC or BJP , are the same at the end of the day. Just the former is compromised ,seen as stop-gap measures. That completely changes once a strong Muslim party emerges.
