Gopichand and Mahesh Babu were the first stars who introduced me to Tollywood.
Ranam and Pokiri were my first Telugu movies.

Anyway, these days most of North India watch Telugu movies, as they're the flag bearer in promoting Indian Culture. Bollywood lost that trust courtesy of their rotten mentality. Some nationalistic directors are now getting exposure, but majority of that is still blocked by the leftists.

Telugu cinema of 90's had a communist tilt. But it is what I call Dharmic-Communism. This picture tells it all. A rebel fighting against land-lords wearing a tilak

Couldn't he find someone better than Mahesh Babu? Garbage actor, zero screen presence.

Rajamouli apparently gave a word to mahesh babu in 2016.

70s & 80s and cinema had that emergency effect.

Amitabh Bachchan made his whole career fighting against the land lords and mill owners. This was the start of communism in India. During the same time the anti Hindu hatred was also injected in Bollywood.

Sorry but the entire allegation that Bollywood is anti Hindu is bunkum.

Bollywood and specifically Karan Johar/Yash Chopra has done a lot to promote North Indian/Punjabi culture.

Karwachauth

Jute lo paise do

And many more such instances from the 4 word word salad titles that came out in the late 90s and early 2000s.

'Man Tarpat Hari darshan ko aaj' is a Bhakti song written by Shakeel Badayuni and sung by Mohammad Rafi from the Raj Kapoor movie Baiju Bawra

I could go on and on.

The notion that you are watching something else because it is 'nationalistic' is laughable. It is the flavour of the season. It was romance in the 90s, family drama in the 2000s , comedy action in the 2010s and its historical action now. It will change.

The Directors have tapped a market and exploited it. Doesn't make the movie more 'nationalistic' than others.

Would be terrible to search for nationalism, in what is at the end of the day, just entertainment.

Jute do paise lo...isnt a Hindu culture..atleast it wasnt in my region (and my region is perhaps the most populated region of the country). Nadiya ke paar was my culture...."jab tak poore na ho phere chaar, tab tak dulhin nahi dulha ki"...the lead character was a Marathi who played the role of a UP/Bihar guy.

Now it's almost a tradition in every North Indian wedding, and has infiltrated in South Indian Weddings as well...now it has become more of a festival and less of a wedding.

There are many instances where Bollywood showed his anti Hindu instance.

1. Showing every Pandit as evil, every Thakur as lootera and every lala as greedy.

2. Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji wont go to temple in Deewar, in his every "angry young man movie", he will shout in the temple cursing god to so something.

3. South Indians, with a tripund on their forehead will speak in a funny accent.

4. Not a single movie Bollywood has made so far on Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj...but they have ample time to make movies on Haseena Parkar, Manya Surve, Dawood.

5. Gangs of Wasseypur, it was actually the Sardar Khan group which abducted the girl and they had to return the girl when BN Singh openly threatened the outcome..."that ilaka dhuan dhuan kar denge wala scene"...in film they reversed the characters.

6. Border movie, they tried to show Mathura Das as a coward who wanted to run away...in reality Lance Naik Mathura Das never asked for leave, he was one of tje most decorated soldier in Battle of Longewala.

7. Less I talk about movies like Singham returns, Ashram webseries, PK movie the better.

Also, in my view Bollywood or any movie Industry isnt just an entertainment anymore. They play a key role in spreading the culture of country. People across the world like SS Rajamouli not because he is a nationalist...but coz his movies show the culture and heart behind it.

RRR was a masala entertainer...but in the scene where Ram Charan dresses like Alluri Sitarama Raju, people automatically imagined him as Lord Ram. Rajamouli never said it's lord Ram..yet people saw his image.

Alternatively, in Adipurush..Prabhas played the role of Raghav (which is another name of Lord Ram)..we all know how people rejected it.

If movies are made with sincere heart, people will eventually find the sacredness behind. If the same movies are made making a mockery, people will realize it sooner or later.

There's a difference in scale between a movie like Tanhaji and taking on to adapting ramayana.

Even rajamouli (who's best suited for taking on those movies) refuses to adapt Ramayana and Mahabharata for the big screen.

Brother...when a Japanese can create a better anime movie on Ramayana than these so called cheap copy of planet of Apes. This shows what would have been its mentality.

Making Ram like Jesus, Meghnaad like scorpion king, Ravana like a mughal emperor...it's a joke.

And the dialogues too.

And rightly said , planet of the apes.

Regarding others, Jr NTR is a class apart. The actor of a generation. Just watch Devaraa. The man single handedly lifted the frames he was in.

Rajamouli, Jr NTR , frw!  Thanks to their Karnataka DNA! Jai Bhuvaneshwari!!

Why this opinion ? He is a solid actors tailor made for serious roles.

Yeah, he looks cute and hence people feels he isnt good for serious action...but time and time again he has proven himself as a formidable actor.

Pokkiri, Athadu, Khaleja, Dookudu, Spyder...there are many such movies. He doesnt show expressions like Jr. NTR or Prabhas or Allu Arjun...who all used to do a lot of overacting in their earlier movies.

Mahesh Babu cant make faces like Brahmanandam which gives loud expressions and there is nothing wrong with it. He chooses the subjects which suit his style and subtle expressions. Very similar to Ajay Devgn, who doesnt have very loud expressions in comparison to Akshay or Shahrukh.

He can do certain roles but not suited for all roles. He has very limited range as a actor just like his father.

Telugu director Bapu did Ramayana and  it was a wonderful movie. It is an alltime classic. SVR as Ravana has no parallel in Indian cinema not just tollywood,I don't think anyone can play that role like him.

Mahabhartha is different, it is much longer story with lot of characters .Rajamouli wants to do it but is scared rightly so, it cannot be fit in one or two parts.

Why go to 80s , a recent movie , Shyam Singhs Roy of Nani and Sai Pallavi had a lot of anti-Hindu content with Brahmin villains. Casteism slurs and glorification of Cheistianity. It seemed like a missionary funded movie

We should send him to Bala Vetrimaran etc.  They never take risks to do some memorable roles.
