Jansen taking wickets with bounce on a flat deck .... while our pacers, despite having pace, are unwilling to use bounce as a weapon from 2023 onwards and look ineffective if the ball is not moving

GURNOOR  BRAR interview

Some excerpts ....

Very objective, clear thinking individual.

If it is a completely flat wicket where nothing is happening, that is when I will raise my hand to say, I'm here, I will get him out. If I manage to get [someone out] on a flat wicket without any movement, it gives me double the happiness. So that has been part of my inner drive [to succeed] in red-ball cricket.

Red-ball cricket will always remain at the top for me because there is no other format where a cricketer is tested endurance-wise, mentally, skill-wise.

My natural strength, which will come very handy for me, is seedha seam pakad ke outswing tez [outswing at pace with an upright seam]. That's it. Basically I am bowling on fourth stump, third stump, which will hit top of off, fast outswing - if he leaves it, he will get bowled and if he tries playing it, I will force a nick.

the stage I am at right now, I don't need to change anything - it's onwards and upwards.

I have not come here [just for] the tag that I was in the Indian team. I want to win matches for India. Not just matches, tournaments. How I can fulfill that is what I want to focus on.  "

Ashok Sharma playing for India A today.

And he gets the ball to kick up nastily due to his consistent 147 k+ pace and beautiful action.

Where? Another A tour going on?

Very happy to hear this from Gurnoor.

We need a couple of Test and ODI pacers, one being Gurnoor Brar, who can get the ball to bounce extra at pace. And pick wickets in flat conditions.

Gurnoor talks about this aspect too.

Selectors need to be on the lookout for another such pacer .... tall, bouncy, quick and objective in his approach.

In the videos below, Onkar Tarmale, is trying to do what Gurnoor is talking about above. Bowling outswingers at pace targeting top of off stump and bowling sudden bumpers.

This pacer has pace + bounce + skills.

Hope selectors are watching.

Bro, really impressed with this guy. Can bowl those lovely outswingers at pace and that extra bounce because of his height. Hope he gets to play a lot of matches for Mumbai this Ranji season.

Bro, hope Tarmale is playing the Emerging tournament now.

He is a red ball prospect too.
