Pandya is our whiteball MVP now

He's clutch in the sense that he doesn't choke from a winnable situation, but he won't win any unwinnable matches like virat/stokes. Capable guy but no MVP

Pandaya is not a v.big hitter , his best spot to bat at is #5 where his sr is 148. He needs time and he targets the bowlers. He can not hit every bowler or say every length.

 

He can hit straight down for 6s but not if bowler is bowling at 145+ kmph. 

He can target spinner and play hit some 6s straight down to pacers but not at high clicks , he does not play modern day shots, plus he is not the one who targets 6s on short balls.

Pandya proved why he is allrounder and not batsman yesterday. He is good for an allrounder but when you start making him into something else or expect him to delivery every match, it is beyond his capability.

No one performs every game, on batting he no pollard , Russell, tim david or miller.

His best suited slot for him is #5 when spinner are bowling and some not so quick bowlers are bowling. His entry points should be when he has some time to pick and chose.he can not hit every ball if he tried he starts slicing or undercutting the shots.

 

Thts when ppl make argument about iyer is also not that good in t20i side based on Odis and IPl games. Is he a good mo batter yes, but is he naturally suited for t20is no.

 

He as fixed some aspect of his batting vs pace, but he still batted at 4 in IPL after few games where batted at 3 because he  does not want to face quicker bowlers up front of his innings. He can not pick and chose which bowler/ball to hit in T20is vs high class bowling unit 

 

Playing IPl or playing vs depleted bowling line-ups or sc teams is different than playing vs Sena teams in ICC events

Was hoping one of Rinku or Parag will provide clutch finishing down the order. Especially former. It will make him play even more freely.

Jay SHah should change uniform of ENgland in the semi final. They should be wearing Green. ONly way to bring the best out of this guy. He clocks over 140k when he bowls to pakistan. But whenever he bowls to others such a low intensity. Then he focuses too much on swag rather than giving company to his partner.

Why has he become a mid-130s bowler? His short balls are still well directed and he has good control of length but that little extra pace is a big weapon. 

Still feel if for some reason he doesn't play we can kiss our chances goodbye.

IMO I have found Pandya to be a much better bowler this tourney. His lengths have generally been much better and he has taken wkts regularly. Even today his last over where he picked up a wkt and was hit only on the last delivery for a 6 was pretty good. As an all-rounder he's doing a pretty decent job.

Hw has conceded a 6 ball every over of his spell

But overall he has been good. On these pitches bowlers will go for runs but he lends a pretty solid bowling option along with batting at the death. IMO Pandya has been ok so far and has given us 2 players in one - a decent bowling option and also a batter who shows up more often than not.
