Ashok went for 30 in an over yesterday ans had a 26 run over preciously. Is fast so can be backed but we'll all be losing our heads if a medium pacer did that.

If he has stamina he can play Tests in future.

I hope GT give Gurnoor a game or two. Premium talent is getting wasted

Ashok Sharma has decided to represent Gujarat in domestic cricket from the next season.

The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has granted him a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Looked ordinary in the A tri-series final.

Ashok swung the ball both ways and seamed the ball both ways too at express pace. Generated bounce early on, on a very docile track.

Good yorkers, bumpers, channel balls and stump directed balls were all there.

He got more swing than all the medium pacers.

But he was let down by wrong choice of lengths on a sluggish track. Too few good length balls. Inexperience showed.

Poor field placements for an express pacer did not help his cause either.

Needs a few more FC and List A games under his belt. He has played just 4 FC matches so far.

Actually pacers with that kind of pace shouldbe judged for their strike rate in the longer run

If they pick wickets and go at 6/7 rpo.thats fine as they are taking out( most of the times) top batter as well

He didnt pick wickets either, that is called ordinary performance

But as we have seen most of the runs flew off the edges, many were miscued shots

First game for India A,he looked totally different when he landed it full, good length

Picked up their main batsman Sadeera with a peach of a delivery in the middle phase.

Him overdoing Short stuff was the only problematic thing he did on a low bounce track.

Lots of under edges of his deliveries went to boundary suggesting low bounce.

i saw ashok yesterday on TV when commies were appreciating him much more than Yash thakur. he was good, with a little more luck he would have got 3 wickets.

if i was ajit agarkar ...i would have flown him as a Net bowler/Back UP Pace Bowler. Indian Batsmen would get to face genuine fast pacer in Practice sessions as He is definitely faster than even Gurnoor/Prasidh/Boom. i would have asked my bowling coach Morkel to coach him very well telling him that he may play in the last ODI. if any pacer got unfit , He would replace him.

this way Ahok would improve

Being a net bowler would help or hurt him more.

Must learn quickly to bowl 6-8 meter length.

Gurnoor is doing that as default.

While Ashok is either too short or too full. Cummins told him that he is a hard length bowler ( meaning should bowl 7 m to 8 m ). He has interpreted that as 8m to 10m length.

Bowling coach must guide him.

Ashok Sharma was over the moon when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) asked for his passport and he got the visa for Ireland. He was expecting a call-up for the Ireland tour but was overlooked.
