For the final the pitch was a used pitch. Morning it was nicely coming on. Later on it was not like that. Batting first would have been a great option. Anyway failure at this level teaches you more than success.

That's old school.  They need to bring pitches straight from Australia and NZ where drop in tracks are the cultural norm.

Set these tracks up in primary test class venues.

 

Ahmedabad has a variety of tracks.. and a huge square. They should bring a couple from Australia and drop them in.

There is a reason why teams like South Africa does better than these Bangladesh,pakistan at seniors level. They send actual 19 year old players. Bangladesh, Pakistan consistently send over age players and get exposed at senior level.

SA did lose ODI T20 series to Pak and drew test series there. 

Also lost ODI series to Pak at home last year.

It isn't as one sided as it looks.

 

Pooks will reap rewards of reforming their domestic set up in coming years.

 

SA too will be a force coz of SA20 making CSA financially stable and they won't lose players to Kolpak or leave SA to places like NZ and Aus/Eng.

Pakistan never had any domestic set up in the first place even in the best of times. Some average teams. That's it. Now it is even worse.  They had to resort to using industrial fans and 45 year old uncles to win a test or two at home. Once those guys are gone their test chances will also become bleak.  Let us see how they do in u19 world cup. Done nothing in the last 5 world cups.

Their last U19 WC performance was better than us.  We were completely wrecked by Australia while they were a whisker away from beating them in SF.   Luck deserted them in that game.

I was actually relieved somewhat that we didn't face them in final.

Off the 4 semifinalists we were the 4th best team.  It took a freak inns from Dhas to carry us into final.

 

From what I have seen in emerging cup and U19s their spinners look better than us.  It's actually harder to digest tbh.

India is only producing darters and SLAO in plenty.

Actually Bangladesh under-19 team was better than both India and Pakistan leading into world cup as Bangladesh  absolutely demolished both pakistan and India in Asia cup.  Even in world cup Bangladesh reduced them to 155. But choked while chasing lost by 5 runs. These teams just don't play under-19 players.  But India demolished bangladesh in the world cup. Saumy pandey was a gun bowler to be fair. He ran riot against Bangaldesh. He was near untouchable in that world cup . Limbani was also good. Musheer khan is a solid batsman. He looks better than his brother. I think India needs better coaching.

I was hoping saumy pandey would grow into a good bowler. He had this rocket release. These kanglus acted all macho against India after each wicket. Saumy showed them up.
