Gill was decent enough in the presser although sounded like a little girl lol Still he  almost said the right things.  Kohli was a bit more professional of all the lot. Rohit often would lose train of thought but he made sure he didn't say something really silly. But this guy is next level.  Sooner we find another captain is the better.

SKY's lucky he plays for India and not Australia or other top teams coz they would've chucked him away a couple of years ago. He's all talk, no show. BCCI and selectors should've kicked him out as well along with Gill. Hardik could've been the captain along with Axar or Bumrah as the vice-captain. We don't really need a passenger in the team.

We haven't seen the cat bounce for years. SKY has only performed in bilaterals where the main bowlers weren't playing. Against better opponents and in ICC tourneys, he has always gone missing. I don't expect any different this time as well. Maybe beat up on minnows in group stage but that's about it.

Not really! They carried David Warner for years despite his terminal decline. That being said, I am not happy about SKY being carried by us now. Even at his best, he is iffy against strong opposition in big games. Hope he somehow gets lucky and the team ends up winning the cup with or without his contribution!

I doubt they carry players in T20 format. Maxwell ofcourse. But he can bowl.

+Atleast one facet of the game they remain always good,fielding

Warner was a livewire,CWC23 the last two KOs,he was part of the pack which was pouncing on everything while they fielded

Tremendous pressure they put on while fielding ,no side not even the SEN come the KOs

They get into that God mode

Even in his terminal decline he won Aussies WT20 and wasn't anywhere close to how poor SKY is. Warner was a genuine match-winner unlike SKY and deserved a slightly longer rope.

Ya. He achieved a lot in the ultimate format which is where he got longer rope.  Australia bench strength is a bit weak these days. That is why they are skeptical about new comers. McGurk was supposed to take over Warner. Infact when both played for DC Warner was excited about him. But McGurk was exposed as a hack. Australia never misses opportunity to introduce exciting players if they are actually good enough.

Warner fired in both SF and F of 21 WT20. His knock in SF against Pooks is so underrated, he was the guy who started the counterattack when others were being timid, of course Stoinis and Wade did a great finishing job but it was Warner's 49 at 180 SR which kept them in the game. And another great knock in the final, only bettered by Mitchell Marsh. 

 

In tests, he had a dip in his final 2 years but still bashed Pakistan like anything in a low scoring home series, and that brutal 200 on MCG greentop against Rabada and co. Failed in Ashes and BGT where he had match up nightmares in Broad and Ashwin, nothing to do with age, even in his prime, these were tough matchups for him. Struggled with consistency post-22 but still delivered a couple of impactful, match-winning efforts each year. 

 

23 WC he was great in the group stages (especially against Pooks and NZ) and his fielding in KOs was instrumental in their trophy win. He scored 550 runs at 110 SR that tournament, not bad. 

 

No comparison with SKY. All formats combined, Warner in the Sehwag class. In fact even in SKY's favorite IPL, Warner towers over him.
