Tilak Varma to be fit in time for 2026 T20 WC, Washington Sundar unlikely to make the cut

Tilak will be fit to take part in the 5th T20I against NZ. TM may not rush him because we also have warm-up fixtures before the main event.

Sundar will most probably be replaced as he has been advised 2 more weeks of rest.

T Varma is a complete batsman. Has got a wide range of strokes. Exactly what you expect from a top order batter in white ball format.  We really need him.   I hope Sanju gets benched in the WT20.  Let I Kishan open the inning and let Tilak bat at no 3 or 4.   Like he did in AsiaCup.

Truth be told Id actually prefer Sundar over Axar for his bowling in the pp.

Both won't get to bat much at 8 anyway, and there isnt like an insane gap in quality there

Axar is clutch and is proven. Sundar is young. He and Parag will eventually get those spots as all three of Axar, Pandya, Dube are 32 and might not make it into the 2030s.

NKR - 22 years

Parag - 24 years

Sundar - 26 years

Jaiswal

Abhishek

Tilak

Ishan

Some righty

NKR

Parag

Sundar

Bishnoi

Arshdeep

Rana

Might be the 2032 team

Just include bishnoi, he is better fielder plus a good off-spinner who can turn 1-2 balls turning away from RH batter.

Can be useful as substitute fielder as well. Ind is unable to find a place for Kuldeep in playing 11 not sure sundar will ever be in the 1st 11.

Kuldeep's ancillary skilsl are very veyr poor in shorter format. Atleast Bumrah can hit a six by fluke. This guy doesn't run fast,  doesn't field well, can't hit big,  can't even rotate strike, can't catch well. So his main skill has to be well above par.

Yes thats the issue Ind selectors or TM do not look at wcs and plan for them, bi-laterals are imp. to them.

Its not kuldeep is bad or worse than other bowlers compared to other sides but big hitting sides he faces problems and he is unable to take wkts,

The over all issue is no Ind bowler can bat or be trusted with a single , The only bowler who can hit 6 is Arsh and he is just swinging the bat leg-side thats it.

Team can have 1 bowler who can not bat but having all 4/5 like those is not good.

We saw with Rinku and Arash rinku took single and gave strike to Arash and he was able to connect just 1 ball in 4/5 balls in 19th over..

Bishnoi is wiry like CHahal infact smaller than him. But he has worked on hitting. He has worked on running. I understand why Varun C is like this. Because he was not a pro cricketer for the best part of his life. But Kully was part of under-19 world cup team. So he has played this sports for a long time at a recognizable level.  So there is no excuse for him to look slow moving
