Gollum Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Hazlewood ruled out of T20 World Cup 2026 as Australia suffers huge injury blow Australia begins the T20 World Cup against Ireland on February 11, with Xavier Bartlett and Ben Dwarshuis being the only two fully-fit quicks in the team. Yeah, Aussies aren't winning the title. Huge, huge blow. @Nikhil_cric @Lone Wolf what say? Ind, RSA to make SF from our Super 8 group? Lone Wolf 1
Gollum Posted February 6 Posted February 6 (edited) Without Hazlewood, don't see Aussies beating us irrespective of conditions. Their bowling unit is a joke now. Edited February 6 by Gollum

I still don't know about RSA qualifying but Aussies are no longer the biggest threat . NZ and England are the biggest threats now and stand between India and the Cup. Losing Hazlewood is much bigger than losing Bumrah or Rabada or anyone. He is the one fast bowler who can dominate the likes of Abhishek /Salt/Allen/QDK and tie them up Without him, Australian bowling can be taken apart in the PP. Which means Aus will have no pressure to start with, they will simply elongated their batting to compensate for 1 champ bowler, specially in Indian flat dewy conditions they will be threat with their batting firepower T20s being the most flickering format will always keep a bullet batting side like Aus in the competition Gollum 1

Probably most inform pacer across all three formats is out. If there was one guy who I expected to trouble our top order was this guy. SA as you said will be the other side to make it to the Semis Gollum 1
Zero_Unit Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I miss the old WI. They always had exciting characters and a certain flair in them. This current team is full of nobodies. I bet if you put Gayle at his current age, he will outbat most WI current batters.
Lone Wolf Posted February 6 Posted February 6 India v Pak SF in 2015 was a real possibility if not for Rahat Ali dropping an absolute dolly. @Gollum this was a memorable tournament imo, all teams barring Australia were almost on par with each other.

That spell is overhyped by padosis. Wahab only troubled Watson...Smith was belting all of them for fun. Aussies chased it down in 33 overs, very one-sided. I didn't enjoy that WC much, Aus just far too dominant. Ind, NZ never looked like touching them in SF, F. Wish RSA had won their SF, they were the only side that could have troubled Aussies in MCG. Maxwell against raw pace has always been a suspect. Pooks looked deflated post that dropped catch. Watson was such a crucial cog for Aussies in 2015. SA were overrated af in that tournament.. lost to Pakistan and heavily to India in MCG. Then that SF which they should have won. I felt all teams were on an even keel barring Australia in that tournament. They were the team to beat. Kanglus had an amazing tournament, Lankans had SANGA literally on fire and Dilshan was giving fliers. India was so heavily defeated in tri series by Aus and England before WC that during India v Pak opening game & the day before everyone was calling that best chance for Pakistan to break the streak. Akhtar's unmatched iconic rant post Defeat against WI Couple of days back it was 11th year anniversary Gollum 1

RSA would not have even beaten India let alone the Aussies in that World Cup.
