singhvivek141 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Rinku Singh is what Suresh Raina was to us a decade back....selfless player. Ask him to do anything and he'll do with full commitment without complaints. Not extraordinarily talented, but is able to make up the best of his abilities. Rinku is a gun fielder, outstanding catcher and a selfless batter. You need such players in the team. rollingstoned, bouncers, singhvivek141 and 1 other 4

rollingstoned Posted February 16 Posted February 16 We have our next gun fielder here. Someone who can get jnto the team just on the back of fielding. Suhaan, BacktoCricaddict, singhvivek141 and 1 other 1 3

Quicker and faster than even Jadeja! Amount of ground he covered in Bumrah's first over running in from 3rd man to almost deep backward point and diving to save a certain 4 and saving 2 was a thing of beauty. Couldn't believe the ground he covered despite watching a number of replays! AKane, rollingstoned, Lord and 2 others 1 4

You need such a player in the team who's bankable in the field and can be positioned in the batters' strong zone. tapandrun Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Rinku is not a prototype t20i mo/lower mo batter, but he has a role in this Ind side.
nitinbwj Posted February 18 Posted February 18 He had a good match against Pak. Huge pressure but scored a 4 and and a 6 in the last over, took good catches.

kosingh Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Rinku is going to win us some important games. Ultimate_Game 1
vvvslaxman Posted February 18 Posted February 18 His fielding is very very vital. Although he faces only 5 or 6 balls he can make runs against pace. It is tempting to bring in Sundar on turners . But Rinku fielding >>> Sundar fielding. BacktoCricaddict 1

Would have rinku in the team and have him only to face 5-6 balls rather than having Axar+Sundar bowling and batting together. This is like a safety-net, it like a walking a thin line which is 2 feet above the ground and one which is 20 feet above the ground. It gives batting side some confidence that they have a batter extra down the order who can hit 4/6 if needed, with Axar+Sundar you lose that confidence. Is rinku a t20 finisher ?----no, but there is no better option in 15, if there was reddy/Parag you might have thought of replacing him. If off-spin is needed make verma/sky/rinku bowl the off-spinning overs. Erusmus looked more skillful and more suited t20 bowler than sundar. Edited February 18 by tapandrun singhvivek141 1

Exactly, he is the buffer, we may not need him in most days. But when we do, that could can be a big difference between winning a trophy or losing it. tapandrun 1
