But Pandya lends more balance. If you had to pick one, I'll still go with Pandya. All other players can be replaced but it takes 2 to replace Pandya and disrupts the team balance. You'll have to play 4 specialist bowlers if Pandya isn't there and that hurts us in knockouts.

Padosis worship Kohli. But they have sort of a fear and respect for Pandya as well.   Sehwag was another guy who owned Pakistan big time.   Pandya has done some memorable sh** in these contests.  Those poses, stares, gestures he reserves it for them.

Hardik/Kohli have had a few failures/losses.

Hardik mostly steps up even in 2017 final he was the one who made runs.  In the league stage he smashed 3 sixes in a row against Imad wasim in the last over.

All said and done in my living memory, infact i am sure nobody would have seen such  a "no look wicket" . First one has to be absolutely sure that ball didn't cross 30 yard circle, second ball actually went anywhere close to fielder, third fielder actually took the catch.   Pandya did not even bother to check any of that lol That kind of a confidence i have never seen anywhere. All these no look shots can take last bench.

Also his aggression, swag and aggression towards Pak is something I find super amusing. 
 

For example - watch this - when Sahibzada tried to knock him out of the park, he did not even look back to see the shot, I walked towards the batter with confidence knowing that he has got him out. The batter must be stunned

Well, all hell broke loose. We hid in the aisle of the bus, everyone on top of each other really, and then the shooting started. They shot the bus as many times they could, threw grenades, and even fired a rocket launcher. And for some reason, I don’t know why, we all survived.

Thilan was injured, I got hit on the shoulder with a lot of shrapnel. Ajantha Mendis was injured. Tharanga Paranavitana gets up bleeding from his chest and collapses saying he’s been shot. We hear ‘oohs and aahs’ from all over the bus. Paul Farbrace has an iron spike through his hand.
