Tillu Posted March 1 Posted March 1 That 60 ball hundred was a pointless hundred after the start they've got. After his 70 his played for his hundred at a strike rate of 160 on a belter of a pitch. Ultimate_Game and tapandrun 2

That's why I mentioned that he's a consistent player and not an impact one. Pak team has so many problems that Farhan giving them a decent start helps them a lot. And against SL they were 174/0 in 16 overs with 4 overs to go. It was the batters coming in after him that were the problem. All they had to do was score 50-60 off the remaining 4 overs, which was easy to do with wkts in hand and they couldn't do it. If Farhan had gotten out early they would've struggled to get to 180. vvvslaxman Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I was watching this 1985 highlights. final. Look what this Qasim Omar does on his way out after getting cleaned up by Kapil dev.
Strangering Posted March 19 Posted March 19 He's not technically sound. I'm afraid that he will run out of his short career peak and then ride Pakistani team for another 5 years based on historical performances. Just does not inspire greatness when I watch him, even when scoring lots of runs. cricketfan28 1

He's limited in his shots and scoring areas and in the longer run will struggle as soon as he gets out of his comfort zone.

Shehzad should have been a success story bigger than Babar but the Padosi system doesn't incentivise, foster and develop their top talent. Shehzad had good leadership traits too. Farhan has a ton of flaws. A hack, if you will. cricketfan28 1

He's not better than Rizwan or Babar opening for Pak and they'll see similar results.

Farhan is a bit like tim seifert hackish down the ground On slightly bouncier wickets most of the time he will catch the ball on the splice
tapandrun Posted March 20 Posted March 20 in last 15 yrs. babar, U.Akmal and Shehzad were 3 top batting talents. Shehzad could be 3rd on the list. Babar type player are second fiddle not the main gig, they made him the main gig.
tapandrun Posted March 20 Posted March 20 In t20s do not need much to old school technique, but need good hitting technique, ability to access both off and leg sides and ability to hit both spin and pace. Looking at farhan it looks like t20 is not natural to him and he might have worked on it and improved his game in recent past. He has flaws in hitting technique and he plays alot of bat balls in between the 4/6. Which could be because he has limited 4/6 hitting shots. He has decent power game and has good t20 intent, he lacks the amount of shots to hit 4/6. On batting friendly and non-pacy wkts he can be successful, but vs good opp. he will find it hard.
Texy Posted March 20 Posted March 20 you ppl are heartless ...Ahmed Shehzaad is lucky to have such a supportive partner
