wanted_desi Posted March 1 Posted March 1 That 14 years old would have done better than him. Frustrated 1
Gollum Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Jaiswal was sacrificed for this? Jaiswal scored 400 runs in the spiciest pitches of Aus against their first choice attack. Even if Abhishek fires, he is so limited. Useless in most conditions. Looked shaken today. Ultimate_Game 1

cricspirit Posted March 1 Posted March 1 More worried about Abhishek in the field now. Too many dropped catches and average boundary fielding. His batting was always like this no surprises. Once a rough patch came, its not easy to break out. Ultimate_Game 1
Suhaan Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Don't need to bash someone who has huge potential at business end of this WC nevada and Lord 2
G_B_ Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Those bashing Abhi were also ones bashing Sanju Play the form player. Simple.

Frustrated Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Ind has very good chance of beating Eng in SF. But Abhishek will drop 2 catches and will get out cheaply. He will single handedly ensure Ind's exit.
Frustrated Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Abhishek is young. He has lot of time to work on his game. But seriously, TM should consider dropping him for crucial KO games. We hv enough decent openers in Kishan and Samson. No need for an out of form opener. I am not a fan of Pak cricket team. But even Pooks dropped Saim Ayub (who wasn't scoring) and his replacement Fakher did the job.

Not too long ago many of you were celebrating him for butchering 'premier' fast bowler. Merciless ! Immature ! Over-reaction ! I take my words back, this has become a torture for me, I have ran out of patience for him. Frustrated and sage 2
Gollum Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Abhi will bounce back. These pitches are pattas. Back him to score at least a 40(20) against Poms and deflate them. Sanju will be due a failure then and also he generally struggles against Archer. Lord 1
G_B_ Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Point is that we need one of the top 3 to come good. I think our focus needs to turn to varun. Everybody is decoding him. Lord 1

However, in case, you hv observed his stay at the crease today (for 11 balls that he faced), he is terribly short on confidence. Scored 10 from 11 balls. 1 boundary. 6 dot balls. Looked very tentative(fattu) and the way he was striking every ball, it was evident that he as this fear of getting out cheaply. Such batters are recipe for disasters in crucial KO games.

You could just tell from his fielding that he would perform badly with the bat Frustrated 1

But unfortunately, our captain & TM can't. They continue to hang on to the old flawed theory of "Let's not change the winning11". It's high time they come out of the 1990s mindset. The game has evolved considerably over the years.
Frustrated Posted Thursday at 07:04 PM Posted Thursday at 07:04 PM (edited) In the match against Windies, GG was staring angrily at Abhishek, while the latter was returning to the dug out after getting out cheaply to a nothing ball. Next Match, Abhishek not only retained his place but also got dismissed cheaply yet again (as expected). And similar pattern is likely to follow in the Final. This goes to show that GG has absolutely no role in deciding the playing11. It is decided completely by SKY. Edited Thursday at 07:10 PM by Frustrated
