Virat is undisputed GOAT in whiteball cricket. The gulf is more in odis. In ODIs there is Virat  and several notches below are everyone else.

 

No one comes even close to Virat in odis.Viv Richards ,Sachin and any tom dick and hary , they are not even in the same ball park.

His captaincy and team selection was shyte! He used to load the team with tailenders and only 5 batters and then the top order used to fail in the knockouts making it a one-sided loss. The moment Kohli went away as captain we started playing 7-8 batters and the results are there for all to see!

Oh look, our youngsters didn't need past seniors to retain the world cup and I would say more convincingly than 24, despite the SA loss.

 

We dominated the matches in virtual quarter final, semis and finals like never before.

 

I am just worried about the ODI World cup, I always back young blood over seniors who can lose form at any time and drag us down

That's the side effect of having stat padders on top. RCB did the same thing for years.

 

Kohli mentality was that the top 3 should bat long instead of batting faster. Which cost indian team as well as RCB lots of games. And other batsmen barely got time in the middle.

 

Despite having huge hitters like AB, gayle etc, this stat padding approach didn't let them win many games.

Kohli has an outdated game for T20. I don't understand why RCB management and fans still want him. I would rather see a couple of no name youngsters play impactful cameos to win games for the team than see a self glorifying stat padder who inevitably goes AWOL in big games.

Along with stat-padding this sort of team composition doesn't leave any margin for error. One top order collapse, which are quite likely to happen against better teams in knockouts, and you're out! It took years of losing and wasting majority of Bumrah's career before Rohit finally decided to go with the right approach.

He has a huge fan base and generates RCB revenue. Same with Dhoni and probably Rohit.

Kohli learned batting and captaincy under captain  Dhoni’s tutelage.

 

Kohli would not be able to bat so freely if Dhoni was not down the order to anchor innings and take care of RR eventually. Kohli wouldn’t be the beast we know him as today w/o MSD.

Reminds me of how Madrid were supposed to decline after Ronaldo left but they won even more CL titles and more comprehensively than with him who was more worried about his stats.
