There is an overdose of Punjabi music in Bollywood movies, been sick of it for 25 years since chakka chakka charaka chale., every song in every movie has Punjabi lyrics with tenu menu ki kariye.. adippa etc heck, forget movies even in South Indian Tam Bam marriages that is Punjabi music. Log pagal ho jaa rahein hain Isn't the protagonist in the movie from Punjab? (Pathankot) So naturally music will be more of that kind. Though I am sick of Bollywood copy pasting and overdosing Punjabi albums in every single movie. KJO, Badshah, Honey Singh are the main villains to normalise it. I miss the old Bollywood music till 2000-2015/16, it all went to sh*t after that. Dear sir, I watch movies to be entertained. I don’t give much thought and don’t take much offence over these things. I did not find Dhurandhar anti Muslim. Nawazuddin is an overhyped actor. He has milked his unconventional (from a leading actor PoV) looks to the max, and used that as a novelty factor for far too long. Also Dhurandhar is a far better movie than Gangs of Wasseypur, which in my opinion is totally repulsive and just a collection of cliches and Bihari abuses. crictime, coffee_rules and FischerTal 2 1

Dhurandhar is an all time hit, Mai Hoon Na is a moderate hit. The kind which are dime a dozen every year. That said, I will still hum or play songs from Mai Hoo na when I drive, and not Dhurandhar. Genuinely do not get the comparison. I understand that you think that Dhurandhar is the next best thing since sliced bread. Why compare it to some random movie from more than 20 years ago? Parvenu inferiority complex?

Gulaal, Black Friday and No Smoking were his best. Once he became a mainstream behemoth (not talking about his physicality) he became a bore who used shock value to get views. It’s what social media influencers do. Gangs of Wasseypur was just like that. Did you find it better than Dhurandhar?

It's like Sippy, Sholay, Amitabh and Dharmendra. That said I enjoyed Wasseypur as well. I also think this was the movie which made Kashyap mainstream. I have always like Nawaz. Liked him even in that crappy sacred games.
goose Posted March 31 Posted March 31 i didn't truly appreciate D1 until i heard the music in full on youtube and then rewatched it. now i think it's one of the best films ive seen in hindi cinema. it's wierd how some of the greatest films of all time require a rewatch. there's a voice that says you've just watched something special but you're not sure. sholay was apparently a flop on it's first weekend then word spread apparently and it took off. agneepath (1991) again was a proper flop but many, (including the man himself) say it's amitabh's best work
crictime Posted March 31 Posted March 31 3 hours ago, Lord said: Watched it. Incredible movie though would say weaker than first one. You felt it dragging in parts unlike D1 Music again is top notch and supports the movie.Great acting by almost everyone. Characters being written well helps it. Missed Akshay Khanna though.Well replaced by the Pinda guy. Action scenes are top notch and thrilling. On the down side, I felt Hamza character had too much plot armour. Plus his backstory looked weak. Expected some Pakistan angle in it. On politics, there is definitely some PR but its not much and expected. And if you think, some positive events happen during non BJP rule. So quite balanced. Either you say everything is true or everything is false. I think its just a really good fictional story around real events. 7/10 for me. The DJ and club goers at various discotheques across India now have a fresh soundtrack. Songs and music that actually pulls you to the dance floor.

Just that dialogue from SRK he’s so infuriating to say that india should fall head over heels if Pakistan wants to extend a hand for friendship. Farah khan. I think the Chandragupta one will not be based on the King rather than a standalone story on the time period. More like GoT's A knight of the seven kingdom type spin off within the Chandragupta reign. Chandragupta's Chanakya history has already been told to Indian audience many times through Indian TV shows. Dhar will try to bring something new. Edited March 31 by Lone Wolf
