Sucking the juice out of franchise is what every producer would do. More so, if the producer is a corporate house(Jio Studios).

There is no islamic music, Music is by and large considered haram in Islam.

Hindustani Music is what we see in Bollywood born out of Hindi and Urdu influence as this is the language of the masses in Northern India.

Bollywood being run by Punjabi Hindu khatris since the start is also other reason.

Aditya Dhar is a ethnic KP and his wife is Pahadi so they are by and large exposed to Punjabi genre of music the most like we see in Delhi

:hitler:... Bhaai .. I also listen to hindustani music.

I love shehnai by Ustad bismillah khan and flute by Hari prasad Chaurasia. Pandit Bhimsen joshi is an epic legend.

The clip I quoted is also the Hindustani Music.  I like that "native" version.

But what I see in bollywood is more like sufi and with lyrics full of Urdu words. It feels islamic.

Urdu as a language won't be understandable to Indian masses (neither Pure Hindi).. so it's a mix of both.

Let's be honest GenZ ain't listening to Ustad Bismillah and Hari Prasad genre..

Atif Aslam, Coke Studio has mainstreamed little to moderate Urdu content in music and it is easier to grasp and catchy.

Now lyricists also keep all that in mind.

Easiest example Pyaar got replaced with Mohabbat/Ishq in most of current songs.

I think Urdu in bollywood pre-dates Pakistani rock bands.  Javed Akthar is one that comes to mind.  I am sure there are more.

Yeah more or less .. easier to create lyrics mixing moderate Urdu and Hindi.  Culturally Bollywood was heavily influenced from North Western India coz of migration and stuff.

North Indian/Hindustani music anyways pre partition was mostly Urdufied.

Currently Pak rock bands and influence of Coke Studio is visible.

Punjabi Music is totally half hip hop these days influenced by West.  It's just winds of change.
