Tillu Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Will these results have any bearing on NZs qualification for the Olympics?
G_B_ Posted March 15 Posted March 15 If the kolpak route still existed the players in this series would in playing county cricket soon enough. nevada 1

Lone Wolf Posted March 16 Posted March 16 The U19 kid became MoTM for SA. Kiwis need to dump Conway and even test some of their U19 chaps in these useless games. Saffers seem to introduce their new crop a lot earlier compared to other SENA countries

This bilateral series is of minimum importance for guys like Finn Allen. why schedule this pointless series anyway in that case

I expect such series to decline soon with their commercial value declining in the upcoming bilateral series. Already the number of Tests in a bilateral series have declined to 2 in a series unless it's the Big 3 playing each other.

NZ board does not want more than two tests anyway as they dont have enough money to host

Zero_Unit Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Aren't we lucky that NZ made it to the finals instead of SA lol

In fact I was hoping SA makes it coz them beating us twice in the tourney would've been extremely difficult and also they crumble under pressure and would've the 2024 WT20 final choke at the back of their mind. Ultimate_Game Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Can't understand the point of this series? Why not make it an ODI series so that you prepare for the ODI WC. Why play T20s a few days after the WT20 and when the next WT20 is a few years later and you have the ODI WC in an year's time? This is BCCI level planning & scheduling masterclass. rollingstoned 1

T20i-W wc is in june 2026 in eng. this is kind of prep. series fr them. As mentioned before Nzc does not own any stadium/grounds they have to rent it and hence it makes more sense to play 2 matches on the game day and same ground It helps with logistics, broadcasting, and overall cost as well. Every player of note is preparing for the IPL and giving this series a miss. More like a SA B v NZ B series. Ultimate_Game 1
