It had to happen as Pant is not made out for captaincy. But highly doubt Pant made the "request" to be relieved from captaincy. To me it looks like Goenka is looking for an escape route after the blunder to pay Pant 27 cr

Loved seeing Sooryavanshi sweep all the awards! Need to get him in the team!

 

If it had been any other player or if Sooryavanshi had been older, he would've walked into the Indian team. Let's not make him wait for it just coz he's 15 or 16 (or 17). Get him in as he has shown he can handle it.
