PSL will be played between closed doors in only two venues without any crowds owing to security threats from Afghanistan and the current war situation in Iran.

That's why most overseas players are also unwilling to come and play this season and the remaining overseas players are being hired as injury replacements for IPL.

PCB is in a huge conundrum now on whether to go head on with IPL or look for another window when the other leagues are happening.

They're adversely hit by the oil shortage as well. It's a perfect storm for them...

1. Security scenario due to Afghanistan war

2. Severe oil shortage due to Iran war

3. PSL shares the same window with IPL so if there's an injury in IPL or a player drops out of IPL, someone from PSL will be drafted in. PSL has become the de-facto bench or junior league of IPL. Have no idea who decided to have PSL at the same time as IPL. Probably another brainstorm by Naqvi :giggle:

Yup,

It has turned IPL into a video game.

Killing allrounders.

How many allrounders were there/produced before the impact-sub rule??

All the impact sub rule did is to get proper bowlers and batters in place of fake allrounders. Likes of Viabhav, Arya, even Abhisjek wont be possible if there were no impact sub rule. teams would have gone conservative as they have been doing for so many years.

Now teams have some space to take a chance with a new batter or a bowler. Many players getting to play in 11 in the 1st season is because of this rule. Player like rathi, vipraj, even tha space created for fast bowlers like vyshak, Ashwini is because of the impact sub rule.

How many proper allrounders are there in domestic?? Its upto domestic cricket to create proper allrounders. Ipl is just a stage.

Because of this rule teams are now forced to bring and play x-factor players, the reason why there is surge in LA wrist-spinning options, teams looking for mystery spinners. bits a pieces players are not picked.

Anyway DC won't play this dwarf over

Pathum Nissanka so this dwarf can leave

They have Shaw as well as back up.

Even Porel can open

These English players only play when they are bought for big bucks and never at their base price.

Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel has voiced his dislike for the Impact Player rule Finally a player has spoken up loudly about this stupid rule

Fully agree with Axar. That's the reason players like Parag, Abhishek, Dube, Nitish Reddy, Vipraj etc. don't get to bowl more often. It's definitely impeding growth of all-rounders as teams essentially play with 12 players.

There are pros and cons:

pros: more specialists players get the opportunities so more chances to discover some good raw player rather than going with a safe players

cons: You are not developing AR options which may bite you against team’s balance..like Saim Ayub’s bowling was groomed by Pak..we are not able to groom Parag and Abhishek enough from bowling point of view

Perhaps this impact player rule can be sunset after we have good pipeline of specialists players esp in bowling
