Work culture is extremely toxic in India. One of the main reasons I moved.

Not only they make you work extra hours and on weekends, they treat their juniors like literal slaves

Core reason is again overpopulation.

There is no shortage of demand vs supply. Hence people have to slog additional efforts to make their mark.

Though, once you cross that turbulent years and become skillful enough, you can dictate the terms at your own pace. There are many folks I know who have become consultants, work for 10-11 months under contracts and then take last 1-2 months off completely.

Goal in India has to be to build a retirement umbrella, soon. Once achieved, you can take things light.

Not talking about Jackie's unfortunate case here but these celebrities in general work their asses off and give gyan to relinquish in the end

He was not giving Gyan just narrating his emotions, you  can choose to relate to it or not. It is kind of true in my life, . JS has turned out to be a different person later in life, more genuine than most of the stars. He was a bad boy during the 80s and 90s but has aged better.

I was not referring to Jackies case and called out that.. also, how the celebs talk about simple life in their later years I have seen few of my uncles talk the exact opposite - if only I had dared instead of setting for simple things kind of stuff.

I'm not talking about ones who chose to slog. But the ones who are forced to do it just to save their job.

Although people see money as a way to showoff. So there is no financial planning for retirement
