For as long as Indian tms get a false sense of security from picking bits and pieces right arm off spinners likes of him will keep finding a place.

They need to be good at one skill-set. Sundar works in Tests as his batting is suited to Tests just like Jadeja. But in shorter formats his batting is a non-factor and likes of Axar, Parag, Krunal, Vipraj are much better as they have the power game for shorter formats.

Id go further and say that Saransh Jain is probably a better red ball off spinner than Sundar and should therefore play test cricket Vs SL ahead of Sundar. Decent bat and someone who can beat batsmen with flight and dip.

Sundar is a good talent, good bat, but we need to really strengthen our spin bowling. Jadeja is now a batsman first his bowling is seriously on the wane and Sundar isn't a front line spinner in test cricket

The seasoned pros in India like Sai Ki, Jain and - he's at a bit younger end -Manav need to be given long runs. They will know the right pace to bowl in home conditions

It Won't happen of course.

Sundar is not a good off-spinner to be a default selection in test, do not think he is that good of a test batter, yes he found some success but who didnt score in that eng series. Can he play as some1 as an allrounder sure if Ind has a good batting and bowling line-up and then add him he will be a force multiplier.

For White-ball :: he can not bat, bowl and field

Jadeja ha test avg of ~40, think sradul has a fifty in Aus , that does not make test team starter based on their batting only.

Totally agree. A no 7 batsman and a third spinner in a five man attack at home, but equally I don't think he and Jadeja can be in the same team both are not good enough bowlers

He's ok in tests , especially in India ,has compact technique to bat well but in process we should also be looking for a better option who can walk straight into co on his bowling alone

Overseas obviously we should go with seaming AR

Sundar should concentrate on becoming a batting allrounder in Test Matches. White ball is not his cup of tea, unfortuanetly.

Yup, he can take over the Jadeja role in Tests. But he needs to improve his bowling as he bowls way too many "hit me" balls which he didn't do earlier in his career. But other than Tests don't see a career for him.
