Honestly pretty undecided. Some bits look great, some look like AI slop.. although it may not be that, its just how my brain is wired after all the AI videos around.

Can't take it seriously. Scenes look heavily CGfied and Ranbir Kapoor too looks digitally deaged.

Certain scenes, its very clear with narrow camera angle that cost cutting has been done.

Also, Ramayan isnt just the story of Ram, Sita & Raavan. But its also a tale of sacrifices conducted by Lakshmann, the respect for Ram by Bharat & Shatrughan and the devotion for Ram by Hanuman & Sugreev, and the undying loyalty to his father by Meghnad.

Unless those characters arent explored well, we wont be able to get the full essence of Ramayan.

It's budget for two parts is 3000 crore. CGI is done by DNEG, the best company with many Oscars. TBH, ramayana story itself is nothing interesting or exciting. It should be made with simplicity.

Maybe because you haven't Ramayana and your reference is Ramananda Sagar, which is pretty boring. Ramayana is highly complex drama with multiple different view points. It doesnt have the intrigue of Mahabharata or the scale. But it certainly is the most incisive story on morality.

Looks promising. Since the story is well known, the film would be more about the execution - acting, cinematography, score (Hans Zimmer),  locations, action, etc.

Appears as if this is the first Indian film made for global audiences (not just Indians). The star cast is interesting too with Sunny Deol as Hanuman.

Though Hanuman Dada’s role would be more in Part 2, I am already getting goosebumps at the thought of Sunny Deol as Hanuman Dada burning Lanka down after his tail was set on fire!

Who is the monster that Lord Ram is fighting in the first look video?

The one he is running away from is rakshasi tataka or tadka a yakshini turned into demon by sage Agastya curse i remember the dialogue of ramanand sagar Ramayan ' ye sthan to bada durgam hai... Aur ye vichtra pairo ke chinh kiske hai "

Vishvamitra " ye pad chinha rakshasi tadka hai "

Shri Ram:" tadka..!!"

Vishwamitra:" haa Ram tadka..6 kos ke is van Pradesh pe tadka ka adhikar hai aur is sthan se koi Praani jivit bach kr jaa nhi sakta.. kabhi ye sthan ek samriddhshali janpad tha malad aur karush naam ke do nagar baste thay yaha, Agastya muni ke shraap se rakshasi bni tadka aur uske putra marich ki vinash leela se ye nagar ujaad ho gya... Us papini main 1000 hathiyo ka bal hai..... savdhaan.. Ram yahi tadka van hai wo yahi kahi chhipi hogi wo badi mayavini hai koi bhi roop Dharan kar sakti hai isliye savdhaan ".

And when lord rama is in dilemma vishwamitra says

Ram samay nasht na karo suryaast ho raha hai, ratri ke samay in mayavi nishacharo ki shakti badh jaati hai phir ve durjay ho jati hai,ye humara aadhesh hai iska vadh karo".

Lord Rama:"Gurudev jab pita ji ne aapki seva hetu humey saupa tha to unhone ye aadesh diya tha ki aapki har aagya ka paalan karun,ab aapke aadesh se main is dushta ki jeevan leela samapt krta hun".

And then lord Rama kills her

The other demon probably which he meets in jungle is viradh who was a gandharva named tumbru who again was cursed tumbru is mentioned in shiva Puran as he narrates a preta named dhundakari the shiva Puran and frees him from preta yoni, the ice demon is probably subahu or may be khara aur dushan

In the trailer, the final scene appears to show the Pushpak viman.

Yeah Ravana and his infamous Pushpak viman.. I think they got the viman right as per the texts loved it

Sri Rama is perfect; he is pure Sattva. No actor can play him without his grace.

To expect someone like Ranbeer Kapoor whose life has been steeped in tamas to live up to his character is stupidity.

Arun Govil had that grace in Ramanand Sagar’s original Ramayan series. None since then.

I think both Gurmeet Chaudhary and ashish sharma did fabulous job as well, arun govil offcourse did commendable job but here is catch Arun govil is more based on ram charit manas while in valmiki Ramayan lord Rama is more warrior type with broad shoulders ripped body is ajanbahu ( his arms are touches his knees) and is taller he isn't too Saumya but a Gambhir fierce warrior

It is filmed for IMAX so would look awesome on screen esp. with the right score.

What a great BGM, not over the top, not too subtle. Kind of hits the sweet spot.

some of the shots look cheap cgi compared to what Ai can do today, some of the shots are wow!

let’s wait & see
