rollingstoned Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Kuldeep is no mug with the bat, that second last ball was not that difficult a single.

In Tests they control things as theyhave time. When the time is less they repeatedly make mistakes. At the MCG in 20th over Kohli gets bowled off a free hit. Ball gets deflected and run towards third man. Kohli immediately starts running. No second thoughts. IN the same situation there is a chance Miller would not have run. That probably would have been too much for him to process. Even if there is no situational awareness training, it is not that hard to just take a few seconds before the delivery to confer and plan properly with the non-striker.

IN the very next match 21 year old Mukul made brilliant deciisons like a pro. 19th over 6th ball everyone was like he must take a single and retain the strike. Although there is some merit in it , he didn't think that way. He had 7 balls left his idea was to make the most of 6th ball and he trusted his partner to feed him the strike back.
