Gollum Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Answer is Sanju, both for India and CSK. He ticks all boxes. Manucrick, AKane, New guy and 2 others 1 4

I think they are trying to sideline him and Jaiswal. Abhishek also hasn't been given an opportunity at India A ODIs. Priority seems to be to keep Sanju and Abhishek tied with T20s. Keep Jaiswal for Tests. All three are major threats to RoKo +Gill in ODIs. Edited May 24 by Lone Wolf Manucrick and Gollum 2

Rohit will recreate Younus Khan 2015 for us.. it will be embarassing Sanju has a pretty good record in SA as you said in both T20 and ODI. Criminal to keep that guy out of contention. SKY hasn't won even one single match for his team. Iyer has. Between the two there's no comparison who the better player is. In fact there's no better middle order batter than Iyer. Patidar is the 2nd best. Edited May 24 by Ultimate_Game
Bigg Brother Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Kishan/Samson will become next t20 captain. Iyer has no chance as of now..He will have to first break into T20 team. tapandrun, Manucrick and cricketfan28 3

Iyer shouldn't be in the side infact, his time is over for t20s ,this was the time had he won or played another IPL final, could have made selectors think to include him the squad not talking about captaincy though No one should be parachuted as VC or C directly, let the best player or to lead from the initial XI That being said ,SKY too should be dropped and bring in someone like Vaibhav into the fold AKane 1

In 15 WC, Pak management had the good sense to replace YK with Sarfaraz in opening spot later, he helped them beat RSA, Ireland, their campaign recovered somewhat. We are stuck with Rohit even if he keeps failing in the WC. Higher powers backing him. Lone Wolf and Ultimate_Game 2

We're going to sacrifice 2027 WC just to appease our stars coz our selectors don't have the balls and BCCI doesn't care. We have likes of Samson, Sai, Sooryavanshi, Jaiswal waiting on the sidelines but we'll go with oldies and has beens. Difference between our T20 and ODI team is gonna be stark. Lone Wolf and Gollum 2

Sad part is this is one of the easier WCs to win. Aus is old/jaded, don't have extraordinary young talent (they will be back to their best by 2031 I am sure). Eng also average. NZ don't have the champion's mentality, RSA is vulnerable to choking in front of home crowd. Others don't stand a chance. Little bit of sensible, ruthless selection and we can close the gap with Aus to 3-6. Imagine Bumrah ending his career without a WC while the Aus trio will have at least 2 in their bag. Even Pooks will definitely come up with lot of younger players CT17, style. ENG and NZ will be massive favorites with their bench strength and Pace battery.

The saddest part is that Bumrah will retire without winning a ODI WC and it's all thanks to the lack of support shown by our batters and selectors, aided & abetted by BCCI.

This is the perfect time for us! We've the youngsters coming through and have experience in likes of Bumrah, Iyer and Samson. England is going through transition, Aussies are long in the tooth, NZ are NZ, SA aren't that special. Our biggest roadblock have been Aussies and they aren't that great with Warner & Smith gone, Head on the decline, bowling older and no decent all-rounder. All we need to do is play a mix of youngsters and experience and we win it. Replace Rohit with Sooryavanshi, KL with Samson, fit in Sai at 3 and drop Jadeja and Sundar for Axar and a pace all-rounder. We've Bumrah playing his last ODI WC and he deserves all the support but looks like BCCI and selectors aren't gonna help him.
