Favourite is difficult to decide.

Worst of the lot is Kolkata biriyani where in a boiled bateta is hidden in between the rice. And too much mustard flavouring on the meat.

@Trichromatic will testify to this abomination.

I had the same view about Kolkata Biryani as well until I tried couple of restuarants. One if famous Dada Boudi Biryani in Barackpore and another is Mukherjee's in Srirampur. Very delicious

Biryani at Mukherjee's Serampore : r/kolkata

I’ve had Benne Dosa and Thatte Idli in Bangalore.

Bang average. Not worth the hype.

There is an Adyar Ananda Bhavan near the famous CTR in Malleswaram. I find even their dosas better.

I’ve had Kolkata biriyani at Arsalan in Park Street. Quite underwhelming, the entire experience.

Thanks for the recommendations. The next time I am in your city, will make it a point to at least get take out from the places that you have listed, if I can’t have a sit in meal.

What would a South Mumbai person know about authentic Indian cuisine? Ignore her @Austin 3:!6 bro, Kolkata Biryani is the best, Alu enhances the masterpiece.

If i wanna know about videshi fad like sushi, croissant, tiramisu, cheesecake, macaroon, I will entertain Mariyam's opinions.

Adyar Ananda Bhavan is a franchise. HQ in Adyar (Chennai) but pan-India and even world. Malleswaram is a locality in Bengaluru, among other tings, famous for some legendary eateries.

Ok you understood. Why thank me?

Many years ago, my dad dabbled in the restaurant business. Pre Zomato days.

We owned/ran a restaurant called Lemon Grass at Carter road. It was fusion of: Pan Asian and Mughlai. And some continental desserts.

The novelty factor and location got some traction and we had a good first 12-18 months. After that it went down hill very fast. Had to shut the place subsequently.

Your post reminded me: we offered guava chilli flavoured Macaroons. They were :blah:. Or maybe like all other geniuses, we were far ahead of our time.

I'm a Telugu. Kerala cuisine is still better.

Keralam cuisine is a dip in coconut oil. How do you like it man...:puke:

I had rare misfortune of eating a banana chip made in coconut oil and I almost puked.

go to Kerala and have. They have awesome food. You can't stereotype on them using coconut oil. Their appam + stews, their onam sadhya meals, their non veg curries, spicy but not excessively hot. Their sea food is special too.
