Pace has it's place but if you don't get any zip off the pitch you're done for at this level. Philander used to get this even at late 120s. Otherwise even at 145 you can disappear.

Philander will too disappear in t20s,agree he was phenomenal with his line and seam in red ball

Iirc ,Philander seems to me the only pacer who operated at 125+and was very successful not others before him or after I have seen

You need to be ultra disciplined with that pace which our trundlers can't even dream of

This is the leeway that trundlers get. Kamboj created the record for worst economy rate for any bowler completing at least 2 overs in IPL and he still played in next games because of his "accuracy" while a quick bowler like Ashok got dropped after one bad game.

Because they are "backing" him for his wickets earlier. But ironically they keep leaving out the most economical bowler Akeal hosein.

Now Kamboj, himself doesn't want to play ,but CSK are still playing him

Why is he even being discussed? Wasn't it clear after his first test match that he is not international class? A pacy but erratic bowler can get better with time and practice. But a trundler can never become fast.

Kamboj is not good enough unfortunately he picked for a series against Sri Lanka
