Yeah I'm not sure about too much pace. Im sure he's nippy and generates bounce by Indian standards and I hope that continues. I'm glad he's in the squad and yes he did well for India A. But Auqib deserved a spot. (What's Reddy doing there in a home test match anyway, he's bits and pieces in test cricket)

 

"No metric" is just obviously untrue sorry man, Auqib has had two outstanding seasons in a row and that includes on a flat Ranji final pitch getting good batsmen out.

Sarfaraz,Nabi should have been selected for the test team.

 

All the batsman selected are top order batsman, specialist middle order batsman ie Sarfaraz should have been added to the squad.

 

Most of the players selected have played every match for their IPL team ie Gill,Sai,Siraj,, Paddikal, etc.

Some players who are not played IPL should have been selected ie Nabi

Nabi not getting picked is an insult.  Sai Sudarshan is not ready for Tests yet. I thought he owuld be dropped after his 100 ball 10 run against SA. He just doesn't have the tempo yet for Tests.

Usually some franchisees get more benefit in these selection. Any such case here? There was a time nobody from KKR was picked for any format.

TM simply doesn't rates him.. It was between him and Gurnoor and they picked GB as he has impressed selectors and TM and he offers which no Indian bowler in domestic circuit offers.

Yes he has bowled upto 90mph on domestic speed guns which are toned down unlike in the IPL.

 

Nabi was bowling in mid 120's to early 130's at max.  We don't need another Kamboj.  It's not that Nabi is young either.

Its just one off test, and that too in India. I am sure Nabi will get his chances in NZ.

It looks fishy that seven players from one franchise team Gujarat Titans are selected for the test squad

Can't select journeyman players who are so called grinding in domestic otherwise we are no different from Pooks selecting guys like Abbas.

Nabi is same as Abbas maybe a yard quicker on average.

 

Potential, eye test are major factors as well.

We saw what happened with Kamboj

We now know Kamboj quality because of that one Test, but that isn't the case for Auqib  He has never been tested at the international level  It is unfair to discard him without a trial  we had a different view on Auqib, and it looks like the selectors aren't keen on picking him
