He has already contributed immensely to Indian test cricket with crucial knocks in his young career. This IPL is a bit of a wake-up call for him. With the pace of the tournament, there is very little anyone can do to adapt on the fly, but there is no reason to think that he is done forever. I simply detest negative nannies who like to pi$$ on young, hardworking, talented Indian cricketers. Maybe Dr. Shreeraj needs to hang up his stethoscope (am assuming he is a medical doctor) when he loses his first 5 patients. I think this is in lighter vein, the smiley at the end.
BacktoCricaddict Posted May 29 Author Posted May 29 We must not forget that Jaiswal was "HIM" only a year ago. He made 559 runs at a SR of 160 in IPL 2025. And, it almost certain that Sooryavanshi will face similar challenges after the honeymoon period is over. He will need the support and confidence of the selectors, coaches, senior players and administrators to help him navigate that adversity. Hopefully keyboard warriors won't dent his confidence further at that time. cricspirit and nevada 2

They made Jaiswal wait for no reason despite him being the best Indian batter. He has been the best Test batter, was one of the best T20 batter and still dropped to favor useless Gill. And now Jaiswal has additional pressure of competing with Sooryavanshi coz he can see his spot going to him. If they had backed Jaiswal, which he deserved, you wouldn't see an under-confident and struggling Jaiswal. Keeping Jaisu out of ODI team is BS. Also that Gill in T20Is stunt last year. That T20 stunt where they brought in Gill and totally derailed a high-functioning team is when they should've given a chance to Jaiswal to see what he could do along with Abhishek. Instead they brought in Gill. And Jaiswal should've been part of the ODI setup for some time now. They've deliberately kept him back/down. Just like Sarfaraz in Tests when he deserved to be given a longer run. Gollum 1

You need to have the right players and talent first instead of blindly going in with left-right combo. Same mistake we've done pushing Sundar just because he's a leftie but isn't a white-ball batter.

tapandrun Posted May 29 Posted May 29 (edited) This thread seems to portray that everything is lost for jiaswal, its just ipl and one bad season. He is already Ind opener in the test. PPl need to understand the era of all format players is gone specially in Ind system which should never had this confusion where there are so many professional cricketers. Jiaswal is not suited for t20is or there are better options present in the system just means there are better talent, jaiswal can make it to other t20i sides but not Ind means Ind openers are at next level which should be a good thing. PPl seems to have more affinity to the player than the game and winning the game. He will get his chances in Odis too jst need to keep perfrming when ever he gets his chances, per his List-A record he looks like a high but slow scoring batter with sr of 85. Here is a small comparison of rutu/padikal/jaiswal list a career--he ihas both lowest sr and avg. This just shows rutu and padikkal are rejected without given a chance Batter Matches Total Runs Highest Score Batting Avg Strike Rate Ruturaj Gaikwad 99 5060 220* 58.84 102.20 Devdutt Padikkal 42 2796 152 82.24 92.61 Yashasvi Jaiswal 39 1746 203 51.35 85.55 Edited May 29 by tapandrun
