What was the batting success of Dravid inSA, AUS may be one good series in Aus? Ponting in india ..so many such cases .. And which modern indian T20 player wins matches on a juicy wicket and how many times we get such pitches in T20 and ODI? Even in tests what is point of playing and getting 10 runs in 100 balls , if pitch is tough getting 30-40 would be big contribution in winning ,than a 100 ball 10.? Keep aside all this crap swing and seam and get him in . i would suggest play him in MO when is selected for test team in due course, till then carnage in short formats as opener. No, he should bat at the top when there're only 2 fielders outside the 30 yard circle. He can win the match on his own in PP itself.
nevada Posted May 30 Posted May 30 72 sixers in this IPL season. Nobody other than him will even come close to the record! express bowling 1
Trichromatic Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Just because he is so dominant, too many expert fans have started calling out ki bowling pitch par nahi chalega. Had a long argument in whatsapp group yesterday. Same point - others also don't succeed.

Vaibhav will come into the GOAT T20 team. yeah..the competition within team..will be top notch..its great..as long as it stays healthy.. Gill has upped his SR a bit..Tilak will also b ethinking in same direction...its a very tough competition..

goose Posted May 30 Posted May 30 unless he does it in tests he wont make anyone's all time all format XI.

One of the reply that I get is that he has to learn to play in swing and seam conditions - something which even Dravid couldn't do. Need4Speed 1
putrevus Posted May 30 Posted May 30 He can work in any format on any pitch. You don't become face of the tournament in your first full season just like that, he has finished with greatest season for a batsman in IPL history by country mile. Who is the genius batsman in India who will do well in all conditions in all formats. We had useless Nair and Sai playing on flattest England pitches doing nothing against awful England bowling attack.KL Rahul of all people scored 500 runs. I don't see how he cannot match those guys.

Keep in mind..he already played some very good innings in the last season he partially played..and we all know..and i said in some other thread too before IPL..that..I am interested in seeing 2 things: - How Sooryavanshi plays this season..when all the teams wud have done analysis and have plans against him..so this was big test for him.. - How Abhishek is going to bat against off spinners in PP..as teams will do that to him after seeing some misses in wcup Both have passed for me..
Trichromatic Posted May 31 Posted May 31 It seems many people have no idea how outlier this performance was.

Gayle was so incredible himself and he is just a teenager. He will get stronger physically. Imagine in a few years time when he is a fully grown up man if he keeps batting like this. Even at this moment he is too extraordinary to imagination.
Tillu Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Will be happy if he has atleast a Rohit Sharma like career. Great in limited overs cricket and an average Test career.

It is not something, it is beyond compare and I think he is just getting started, he will only get better. The only thing I worry about him is injuries, with his bat swing he puts too much pressure on his body.
