He is far away from playing test cricket. Dont think he is a test player. Test cricket is completely different. Let him just play LOIs for now. We shouldn't be obsessed with three format players. If he does well in FC cricket then yes, he should get his chance in tests but not before that. Lord 1

You are wrong, he can play test cricket with ease.David Warner was the most important batsman for Australia in all formats. He did not play any FC cricket. When you have this kind of talent, he should be just fine playing test cricket too. Manucrick and Bigg Brother 2

He can win the match on his own in PP itself. i differ . He should play T20 first and by year end should be playing 50 overs . Post that, next year test cricket but start with middle over position . The way he got out recently makes me think he needs to iron out a few things on very pacy bodyline attack. With experience in 50 overs where he will be tested intensely with such bowling from both ends (which is not possible in T20) he would have found a workaround by then and in MO in test cricket gives him time to adjust to test cricket with a clear plan and success at MO will propel him to any batting position he wants to play.
Suhaan Posted May 31 Posted May 31 He should only play t20s and let him play CWC27 the first target Odis are anyway played lot less these days, tests is but too much at this point for a kid like him at this point Chances of burnout are there,BCCI has to treat him as a kid not a 20+ year old Need4Speed 1

If you analyze every batters' dismissals, you'll never be able to come up with a team coz you can find fault in every dismissal. It's what Sooryavanshi does before he's dismissed that's the key. He deserves to be part of the Indian setup at the top. He's in form right now, give him a debut now. Not when he's reliquishing in domestics for a year and out of form. New guy 1
Trichromatic Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I doubt this type of performance can be repeated. Usually most attacking players don't end up being top run getter in a tournament. All top run getters have bit of accumulator nature in them. This was extreme outlier performance.

Test cricket is the ultimate test so its better you prepare for all which will be thrown at . Edited June 2 by prudent_kreeda
