Don't agree based on what I'm seeing. IMO we're a better ODI unit as lack of 6 hitters is not shown up in that format but in T20s you need big hitters and we don't have any except Richa Ghosh.

India gave way too many

Then a lack of intelligence allowing Eng to get to 168. And they should've been even more aggressive in PP overs. Smriti Mandhana was playing dot after dot while hitting an occasional 4. If you know the pitch is tacky and will be difficult to score later then that sort of innings is inexcusable. Either way too many gaps for Ind to beat better teams in T20s.

That shows Eng has batters who can hit big and get boundaries. I don't even see the ability to hit a 4, let alone a 6, in our batting lineup. The players look so weak and mal-nourished that unless Harmanpreet or Richa are in, we're doomed.

Slot balls on pace. I don't think she is that good a player.
vvvslaxman Posted May 30 Author Posted May 30 Poor Sree charani. Bowled beautifully today. She consistently troubles England.
Ultimate_Game Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Absolute lack of power and batting ability in the middle and lower order. You can't even rely on lower order to hit even an occasional boundary. You can't win a T20 cup with such a team. Need some big hitters.

Take out Rich Ghosh and maybe Harmanpreet and you don't have a single 6 hitter in the team! Shefali, Mandhana and Rodriguez are all 4 hitters and once field is out they'll struggle as well.

To win this match you dind't even need big hits. Just a boundary somewhere and few singles here and there. They needed 81 in 9 overs. Made a mere 54 runs with so many wickets in the tank. I definitely think Jemima batting above Harmanpreet who usually takes 10 or 15 balls to settle down would have helped us win it. Ultimate_Game 1
vvvslaxman Posted May 30 Author Posted May 30 England 26 dot balls India 40 dot balls Game set match there
deathmonger Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Indian womens cricket has become good but needs a decade more of WPL, rising incomes, freedom for girls, nutrition etc to truly dominate. The 2025 WC win's effects will be seen 10 years from now.

They have too many batters yet they don't plan the batting approach very well.

At least Harmanpreet can hit big but Yastika doesn't have the power to do so and for her to eat up so many balls was criminal. She doesn't warrant a spot in the team and Rodriguez should've come in her place.

We need to find some decent female Tennis players been a while now (a bunch of em actually) and target some female oriented sports. Women kirket is hit and giggle stuff in grander scheme of things
