It was amazing to see him take on all-comers including Bumrah, Hazlewood, Cummins etc. Those 3 6s off Cummins or the 6 against Bumrah on his first delivery facing him were incredible! jf1gp_1 1

Its not like i didnt switch on tv, i did but lost interest within a few overs. Delhi Mumbai was the only game i watched. BacktoCricaddict and cricketfan28 2

Got to see some emerging bowling talent and the introduction of VS. Then it became saturating. And to top it off, the knockouts were anticlimactic. Ways to overhaul: Fewer league matches. Best of 3 finals. Teams must shed oldies (Harshal, Jaydev, SKY, Jadeja, Shardul, Rohit, ......).
tapandrun Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Think IPL felt bit boring because the fans and even players (Ind t20i winners) didnt get the time to refresh and reset. Seeing the player who have won the t20i wc not doing that good, made it look like that players are taking it easy and drop in the competition levels when these players were playing. Plus need some high pace bowling vs good batting kind of scenario, but the issue is even 150 kmph gets hit, so its jst change of pace or cutters kind of bowlers doing. And some teams didnt even play modern t20 game owing to wrong team selection or living the the past. Mi/csk/kkr three big teams not doing well was also an issue these are amongst the 4 most popular ipl team and 3 of them not doing well does lose huge fan interest. BacktoCricaddict 1
BacktoCricaddict Posted June 1 Posted June 1 (edited) Dear Punjab Kings players, Congratulations on winning the fairplay award. It is especially admirable considering that your coach is the living antithesis of fairplay; one who spent an entire career undermining the meaning of fair play. From claiming Tappa-catches to browbeating umpires to refusing to walk before the DRS days when he was clearly out, he is the epitome of boorish unsportsmanlike conduct. As players, it couldn't have been easy to transcend the antics-man himself. So, extra congratulations. tapandrun Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Every aus player of that team has mellowed down, they used to be lean-mean machine kind of team and after retirement they all transitioned so well. In most situation they were the team which has already won the game even before it started. Now you do not see them talk about their past much. Good to have such players who were champions themseleves coaching or mentoring the sides. Think overall Aus crkters/system has better understanding of the game , lilly , ponting , hussey etc..

He was a bigger cheat than Ponting or any other Aussie. Used to stand there after edging the ball to slips and a shyte person! Alongside Clarke, other Aussies I hated much more than Ponting were Hayden, Symonds, McGrath and funnily enough Gilchrist for his "holier than thou" attitude. That team wasn't likeable at all and I found Ponting better than others. Even Langer and Lehmann were shytes too.

Kya integrity sikhaayenge players ko? Hope LSG fires Langer.

Also hate that smug Mark Waugh and it was so satisfying to see India win BGT in 2020-21 and beating Aus in Aus and Mark Waugh not able to find words to explain the series result

It is hard for me to accept that they have fundamentally changed as people - they may have mellowed with age, but I doubt the "win-at-all-costs, including cheating" mentality has left them. Plus, I don't hate too many things or people, so I am allowed this. So, the more they fail in the IPL and quicker they are out of the picture, the better. Ultimate_Game 1
