He is not succeeding because of novelty.  He gets massive dip and turn.

I liked the look of Shivang and Punja in IPL.

 

Varun needs to be binned, seems to be easy to hit at international level.

 

Bishnoi was a lot better in IPL and should have been selected then, he seems to have lost form and perhaps been found out and should not have been in this squad.

 

Not really anything to do with spin specifically but definitely think the impact player rule in IPL is not a good thing for Indian cricket.  It just benefits Franchise owners and a handful of players.

Punja and Shivang look promising, but they need to grind it out for 1 or 2 years at the domestic level. Hope they don't turn out to be one season wonders.

 

I'd rate Sai Kishore higher than Harsh Dubey and Suthar with the white ball. But he has lost many peak years by being at GT. GT should trade him to RCB or some other team where he can play a full IPL season as the lead spinner.

 

I had high hopes from Digvesh, but he regressed this year. Maybe a better captain might extract more out of him.

We don't have anyone... Replace Varun with Punja in case he fields well.

Axar with Anukul Roy perhaps or bring Riyan Parag.  Give him will Jacks role and power hitter down the order/floater for left right combos in middle as well.

 

After Zimbabwe next T20 series is likely in BD.

Can't think of any. Since next 2 ICC events will be in RSA/Aus, maybe it won't hurt us that much. Just pick a spin AR, bat till 8. Make guys like Parag, Jaiswal, Abhishek bowl more.

Varun was a bigger trump card than Kuldeep in t20s, had an important role to play in the CT win too. Those reliable 4 overs going for 40-50 now is a big loss which we are not able to compensate for.

Add Jadeja to the list for Odis. Jadeja will make a comeback but he is also done as whiteball plus even red ball bowler.

Doubt he will be back for ODIs unless something drastic happens. Even in upcoming  ODI series Sundar has been picked alongside Axar.
