Issue with Ind batters are they are not suited for these condition and they do not have the game to counter. Can they score some runs in coming games sure , but are they naturally suited for non sc/sc like conditions no. There lack of off-side game is being expose because ball is moving or have some kind of bit more bounce they can not club leg-side because of the assistance bowlers are getting. On flat wkts the batter can line up for their leg-side shots , and add bigger boundaries so first batters can not play their most productive shots plus their is bigger boundary so even if they play it it not certain it will go for 4/6 and then can not to access half of the entire ground. This is the time , of sort these issue either fix them or get new player who are natural suited for such conditions. Not asking for KL but player who can hit big 6s, who are good vs bit more extra bounce and pace and has decent/good off-side game. Off side shots are generally well protected . Ring fielders are more on the off side. That is why Jaiswal frequently gets stuck or get out in that area even though he is a terrific off side player. It is the same with Mandhana. probably they best off side player in women's cricket. Yet she could not pierce the field Unless you play like Travis head, Abhishek in the air by giving a lot of room it is going to be less productive area. Even Abhishek has been trapped from time to time. In T20 straight hitting is the most improtant rather than off side or on side. That is where most big hitters hit. Sanju is an outstanding off side player. But when the ball leaves him off the pitch or in the air he gets out.

No , nothing to do with ring of fielders on off-side for lack of game for Ind batters, they just do not have off-side game. As for Anhishek and Jaiswal does not have a neutral stance , both have off-side dominant stance, the diff with both is one of them is able to make his own line and length by moving up-down the pitch and some times laterally and other can not do it. Abhishek also gets pinned sometime on bouncers but he has counter for it. Either he can move into the line and hook/pull it for a 6 or he dances down and hit it on off-side so bowler does not know. Most big hitter have v.good power game so they can hit the ball straight down and most big hitters plays in last few overs where default go to ball is yorker hence striaght 6s, and vs spin its always prefered to hiy them for 6s from long-off to long-on or to sweep them for 6s. Sanju's issue is playing lose game again and again, be it pace or spin he just throws his hands if the ball is moving or deviating a bit , and the issue stems from his v.small forward push and his 1st trigger where is moves back. for such techinique he needs to have v.fast bat speed and need to target leg-side. In simple words he is coiling back to creating energy and then he uncoils it through off-side rather than leg-side hence just throwing the bat
vvvslaxman Posted July 8 Posted July 8 (edited) Players will feel insecure as per Ashwin. Edited July 8 by vvvslaxman
vvvslaxman Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Now that they are goign to use the same team for few moe matches. they should try to make the most of it. Tilak should be tried at 3 now that Kishan keeps losing his wicket inside 6 overs somehow . Run out or holing out. At this point his self-preservation might work. As per pdogg nottingham wicket helps first 6 overs and you should target bowlers after 6 overs.
Nikhil_cric Posted July 9 Posted July 9 T20 was supposed to be our strong suit and we got thrashed into oblivion. Let's see what the ODI's bring. Scary prospect with oldies in the side. tapandrun 1

Scary prospect with oldies in the side. But its good that got to know what are the limitations of the wc winning t20i side are. Selecton based on wc win in sc/sc like conditions into odi wc side would have gone the same way as this series. Nikhil_cric and express bowling 1 1
tapandrun Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) Ishan/Sundar/Dube are not odi material. rohit is on v.v.fast declining curve. every inning looks like he is putting alot of effort with not much result. Sanju is not solution saw he was unable to score much in last 2 t20i series. Edited 6 hours ago by tapandrun express bowling 1
