Why bring an outsider into the T20 setup as captain when Sanju or Ishan are better options Vaibhav should have replaced SKY in the XI  with Ishan captaining and Sanju as vice-captain. That’s the perfect setup but the selectors failed again

Iyer has loser vibes. 

 

There is no way Punjab should have choked in IPL after such a strong start.

 

Based on evidence so far has no plan B and seems to wilt in pressure situations.

Should have brought him purely as a player and see how he goes. Same way appointing TIlak varma as vice captain was another dumb move. VC is probably on the surface is an unimportant role. But when captain goes out of commission during the  match he has to take over. We saw what a disaster it was during SA series when Pant captained. He lost a completely winnable match which we were bossing.

Vaibhav should've played in place of one of the openers. He's not a middle order bat.

The dismissal shot was not a natural shot for Shreyas iyer. It wasmore like under pressure shot. His go to areas are mostly down the ground if it is within the stumps. Walking right across the ball means he was trying to manufacture a shot. Captaincy pressure? In terms of luck and being practical SKY is better than Iyer. If Iyer needs to compensate for that he has to show up in batting. Very reason Iyer replaced SKY was due to his batting. If returns are simialr to SKY , Gill will soon take over which is the last thing i want. Gill totally ruin the mentality by stacking the side with average batsmen so that he can look good.

Its weird iyer cult keeps bringing up Patidar as a gotcha. I see this propaganda online,  as if iyer can only he replaced by Patidar and these are the only optoons we can have and its obvious dishonesty.

Trust me. I always thought Punjab had a great unit. But one thing that always concerned me was how they look helpless while being on the field.  SRH with bowlers sakeb, hinge, shivang, maling looked way better than janswen, arshdeep, chahal, bartlett. On paper first line up is terrible.

There was a narrative by Punjab fans that bowling was poor and Iyer couldnt do anything. Even though attack is good on paper..

you can't blame active internatioal bowlers if you can't get the best out of them.

Bubble bursted in the first outing. Sky was A level minnow basher and also has hundred in SA,NZ and England in T20s which is huge thing. Having said that Sky's time was over, had become one shot specialist. Iyer has a long way to go in T20s. There is a reason why he wasn't in squad of 15.
