I supported dropping SKY but told them to pick @Gollum as the captain. Agarkar was like "who"? I said - I don't know ... he's one of the ICF Iyers ... bledy felow got confused and went and picked the wrong Iyer.

It will be interesting to hear from the players. From what i understood from iyer's interviews and other opinions from players he leaves everything to players.  He basically expects players to do what they were picked for. He doesn't really play any leadership role in motivating them.  He expects professional cricketers to know their role and do what is expected. He doesn't believe in external push. A reason why he doesn't talk to bowlers when they get taken apart, a reason why he doesn't think about match ups, situational awareness. He expects all bowlers to do well in all situations. He doesn't make it easy for them. 

 

I am not sure how Indian team will survive under his captaincy.  May be it works for some weak teams. India is a strong team. His captaincy has made it weaker. We were invincible.

if this is even 50% real its hilarious and tragic. this game hasn't produced inspirational coaches and captains just for the heck of it

IPL teams and captains have a great support system. The TM plans everything out, the captain walks in for a couple of months to serve as a face of the team. Maybe it is time to stop judging captaincy based on IPL unless you are already a captain of some stature internationally.
