Abhishek plays high risk gane..Sooryavansgi will play that too..

I will prefer to drop Iyer instead..

AS

VS

Sanju

Kishan

Tilak/Pandya/Dube

Axar

These are my 8 batters..I will prefer ballistic top 4

It's a very simple thing, you cannot have Sarpuncture,Tilak,Axar,or even Samson(who takes a bit of time) playing together.
Let Sarpunture play through the UK tour and get a good look at his game.It will help the management reach a final decision

It’s not IPL is a lame excuse: not every IPL condition is a patta and also players like Mahmood etc would never be picked in IPL.

Just that Indian team combo is not great compared to most franchise teams.

OP is literally attacking a batsman who scores a 50 almost once every 3-4 innings and has a 30+ score almost every other innings (43%).

Abhishek is the most consistent batsmen in the world in t20 and even better than all other tuk tuks

he is playing with sr of 200 at intnl level, he is bound to fail in certain games. he does not take or eat-up deliveries to settle.

And even with this approach he has got 33 avg, 11 fifties 2 tons, if he scores a 30 ball fifty it looks slow for his standrads which for most even top players will be a v.good innings

who else has this consistency at that sr ?? who  is doing it better than him ??

Even after a fair few years,  there are disagreements and misconceptions about what you need in a T20 sportsperson, especially batsmen.

To me, it’s a format now so far removed from ODIs and Tests, it may as well be a different game.

Batsmen face so few balls, the old metrics don’t matter.  Averages, for example.  Instead it’s all about strike rates.

Even standard terms like ‘bat straight’, ‘build an innings’,  etc lose their value. It’s your impact on the innings in a short time span that’s critical.

People like Sharma can end the game in 20-25 deliveries.

That’s the reason he works so well in T20s, despite the allegations of being a ‘duck farmer’ ‘tulley baaz’ and ‘lappar’.

Folks just don't realise his value.

We have a habit of attacking aggressive players.

If a tuk tuk fails in 7 out of 10 matches no one worries, but an attacking batsman fails in 1 out of 3 matches and then pitch forks are out

If a trundler goes for runs in 7 out of 10 matches no one cares but if a fast bowler goes for runs in 1 out of 4 matches, he will be dropped

We still have a phattu mentality as a nation in cricket.
