GT were faced with pulling off the second-highest chase in the IPL, but Sai Sudharsan kept them on course with 74 off 41 balls. Jos Buttler and Sherfane Rutherford also kept the big hits coming as GT scored 87 runs in the six overs between 9 and 14. The ask of 75 off 36 balls seemed achievable with heavy dew hindering the bowlers, until PBKS' Impact Player Vijaykumar Vyshak bowled an incredible spell.

 

Vyshak conceded just ten runs in his first two overs, bowling ten dot balls, and PBKS strung together three overs without conceding a boundary. GT couldn't recover from the slowdown.

 

"Shreyas is someone who works on instincts as a captain. That's why he's one of the best captains in in in the world right now," Shashank said. "Even I feel that that was the right time to get Vyshak and the way he bowled… in the bowling meeting, we usually plan all those things. So this was a planned thing. The way he executed the plan was commendable. Those were the hard overs he bowled because there was some dew.

 

"These are the moments you have to win. Vyshak came and he nailed it. It is very difficult to bowl those yorkers but he did his job to perfection and kudos to him."

SKY can be brought back in some other capacity, as mentor or part of coaching staff. For 2028 campaigns.

He was just a chill guy.

 

His presence in the team is also very different from how people make the Indian team.

 

Most of these guys were hyped since teenagers with most of them even playing U-19. Sky (and Dube) were journeymen who massively upgraded in their late 20s and got in the Indian team. They are super chill cause they are just happy they made it.

 

Rajat Patidar also similar.

Brearley who was purely there as captain handled the egos of Botham and Boycott fine.  Actually so did Tony Grieg. M H Denness was the one who pissed off the best bowler Eng had then (John Snow) and the best batsman (G Boycott).

 

Maybe Suryakumar is same as in he keeps the egos of people in check.

Sky was a chill guy , chill captain but u guys forget that he played selfless and he was reliable . His style of batting suited fast pitches - Australia, uk he would have scored more and in my opinion , on South African pitches his batting would be very useful for middle order. His form wasn’t that bad. 
 

a good IPL next year and I think I would play him over shreyas in t20.

SKY as a captain gave his young team the confidence , failing is okay.You will not be removed from the team if you fail in three or four matches.

 

He backed Abhishek during the world cup , while everyone was asking him to be dropped.He even backed useless guy Varun whose mystery was finished.

GG is like a boss who expects players to follow him.
