Why can't these social media influencers influence civility in Indians?

Coz thats boring, and take a lot of effort.

There are some channels like Abhi & Niyu, Nitish Rajput & Open Letter which talks about this lack of civil sense and how its cause harm to our own image. But the problem is Social Media is an echo chamber and it will only show what you want to see.

Making content on serious topics require effort and dedication. Instead, dancing on a cheap song in crowd or doing theatrics and making funny expressions is an easier way to get views and subscribers. You dont need to use your brain in writing a script for a content.

This is very common and disgusting, throwing garbage from cars.

People should be shamed on the spot, on YouTube, everywhere. Let their social circle see , let the badnami happen.

There is a traveller youtube named hugh abroad who visited both India and Pakistan and said Pakistani cities are cleaner than Indian cities.

This situation can turn ugly as well.

Imagine instead of a couple, there are group of 4/5 bachelor boys in the car...they will come out of tje road and then will start fighting with the bikers.

Indian tourists chanting Gayatri mantra at an Azerbaijan museum.

What is wrong with these people? Zero civic sense.

Wonder if some of this is deliberate just to seek attention, even if negative

Most are 1st time travellers; this is the only way of life they know. I think need is to find a way for educating these travellers and i believe most will be compliant. The problem is Indian dont feel vacation ka paisa-vasol till they have sung those standard Kishore kumar songs as a group.

Shared my experience previously here below. Only difference being that there were no foreginers in our bus.

I travelled to Georgia with a popular Indian travel agency, usually I go solo and make my itinerary but Georgia's reputation of deporting Indians for no reason made me consider a travel agency as a safe option.

Needless to say, most of my co-travellers were well off businessmen and mostly early GenXers or Boomers. So we were going to Kazbegi mountains close to Russia border and we had to climb a steep elevation since the cathedral there is located in high altitude.

All of sudden during our upward trip, everyone in the bus started singing bhajans in a very loud voice for nearly 2-3 hours non stop without taking breaks. It felt like I was going for Vaishno Devi darshan instead of a remotely located cathedral in Eastern Europe.

Promised myself that I will travel strictly solo the next time.

I think it also is a reflection of life in India. We are so much engulfed with struggle, chaos all the time that we lose awareness of our surroundings. Thats the reason why Indians keep their homes clean but not their surroundings.

We then travel to foreign nations where its relatively more orderly with this desnesitized state of mind and behave like this naturally.

I think you are right. You actually see similar behaviour at Indian malls, restaurant, airports etc. You can clearly make out first time visitors. They are either subdued and look extremely uncomfortable or brash.

Kya aisa impression hote hue bhi aisi country me travel karna daridrata se bhari manah-stithi nahi darshata?

I mean aise desh ko apne tourism dollars dene hi kyon? Koi majburi to nahi hai.

I think the problem with tourists spoiling India's image is everywhere.

Usually South East Asian nations like Vietnam, Thailand are favourable to Indians. Yet, the news of tourists creating a mess or stealing items at the hotels paint a very bad image.

Forget India, even in our tourist places, like Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Himachal...there are some "priviledged" tourists who will misbehave, talk impolitely, and throw trash bin everywhere.

I will tell you one incident, I went to Maldives in 2016, in the swimming pool there were a newly wed Indian couple who were having their fun time. The groom did a video call to his friend and said " chup chaap rehna, mai jannat dikhata hun"...and he switched ON the video towards some white skin girls who were bathing at the other side. At the same time, his wife was also giggling and laughing with him while looking at those girls.

I called that guy few times to stop the recording, he saw and then ignored me and continued recording. Later some staff saw and then they shouted on him, as usual the guy came out of the pool and started arguing instead of accepting his mistake. I moved from there cursing that A-Hole as the entire resort was watching him taking arrogantly and in a demeaning tone to the staff, some even muttered that "yeah they are from India".

Later the couple were asked to vacate the resort effective immediately, and that SOB kept on saying that I will call the embassy and shut down your resort...I have contacts everywhere and other bullshit.

Bhai Maine to Bharat bhraman ka hi nishchay kiya hai. Support local tourism And to not send tourism dollars abroad, as we are a trade deficit nation....

recently Mussoorie, dehradun ghoom kar aaya. ..yes our civic sense is atrocious, it's frustrating. On brighter side, India has resorts, mountains, beaches, temple/religious tourism, best food.

Bhai bharat bhraman to achchi baat hai. Apne desh ka paisa apne desh me hi lage to isse achcha kya hai. Only thing is ki local govt. ko thoda strict hona hoga against such A holes which are destroying our image across the world. Goa is a prime example, such a beautiful place, but ek saala drunkyards ne jeena haram kar diya hai, dusra Goa Taxi Mafia ne, exiting from Airport and taking a cab to the resort is a challenge. Car rental wale bhi phone karke hotel se aage bulate hai, coz agar Taxi mafia ne dekh liya to they will get beaten.
In comparison, South East Asia me Grab ya Gojek book karo, aaram se chalo...no tension, no bakwas, pay what shows in the app.

I am really looking forward ki India Nicobar aur Lakshadweep me top class resorts banae, which can serve the tourists. That will be a great service to our tourism industry.
J&K to kabhi nahi jaunga, everytime I see these Kashmiris I am reminded of how they bend over to Pakistanies just for the sake of religion.

India had massive tourism potential, but to tap it fully, civic sense laws have to be very strict and enforced
