Vaibhav always looked calm and composed at the crease whenever he batted in IPL and the A tours.

 

He was visibly nervous yesterday and should have taken some time to settle down before playing his strokes.

The Indian team environment looks toxic right now. Vaibhav needs a supportive setup, but all calm is gone with egomaniacs like GG and Iyer running things. That’s never going to help a young player

Yeah Iyer should stop looking for scapegoats in his press conferences and take responsibility. He is not going to last long with his captaincy if he keeps blaming others.

Indian fans keeps crying only for two things.  Why someone is not in the team and why someone is not being dropped.  Heros turn into villains in a span of 2-3 games and vice versa. 

 

Now according to them Vaibhav Suryavanshi will solve all the problems of Indian cricket.  Once he start failing which eventually will happen the way he plays they will start blaming his technique and lack of fitness.  Only thing we Indians know is excuses.

Look these matches as an experience for him.. this is where he will develop more as a player.. level below international standard wont do much good to him..

He is still able to hit sixes just need to stay longer

These shot selection was a problem even in India. NOthing to do with conditions. He is still the highest run getter. IN the last match Abhishek was swiping the ball repeatedly missing everything. Technically Vaibhav is better than Abhishek if he puts away his hook shot which let him down even at u19  level when it is outside the off or under arm pit. Most seasoned players won't try to play.  Vaibha tries to whack with full bat swing.  If he puts away that hook shot until he settles in he can be your match winner.

No Abhishek is technically better.. he is kinda like left handed Brook with more of a hand eye coordination.  Last match pitch was nipping around with the new ball and Archer bowled it short outside off hoping Abhishek will miscue one... He doesn't edges  to keeper or slips 

Abhishek looks to manufacture room by stepping away.

Brook comes down the wicket, Abhishek looks to step into the lf side.

Both very effective methods.

 

Vaibhav is more like stand and deliver with a more pronounced swing of the blade and minimal foot movement.

Atherton noticed the difference as well

ABhishek doesn't have any defense like Vaibhav. Vaibhav literally blocks the ball under his feet like Pant, Sehwag. Abhishek hit or nothing as his bat comes at an angle.

His batting isn't styled to defend... Just saying he has something extra to counter movement than other Indian players besides that amazing hand eye coordination.

That's why his numbers + S/R  in SENA dwarfs his peers.

Yea.. he gives room and makes the bowler bowl differently. But he struggled against ball that leaves him. He manages to miss them because of room he gives. But that is okay as long as bounce is not very high.

I am not worried about Abhishek and Vaibhav..they are playing against hight pace/biunce bowlers in away grounds and will get used to it..taking time here to deliver is fine so they can be ready for Aus wcup or esrlier..

Eng openers also coukdnt do too much in these matches against even our less pacy bowlers with new ball..they cashed in when movement gone and they didnt hv pace and bounce to deal with..

Our openers will still be able to make quickfire runs if even though not big scores(or maybe thatbtoo)..and thats fine..

 

I am more concerned about our poor MO led by Cap and Vcap..who are not tgat grear technically and get stuck..

additiinally spin dept is very poor and not good backup option for Pandya..

Though in Aus we wont need 2 spinners..

with selectors looking towards pacy/tall /hit the deck bowlers we will hopefully be able to groom some..
