This is not a tournament that his issues needs to be fixed on the fly. He should go back work with coaches on his game and then comeback.

He is not a finisher he does not have that kind of game, pairing him with spin basher will also not help all he will do is to bring other batter down as well. Iyer is spin basher but their innings kind of going nowhere, sanju is spin basher too in asia cup his innings got stuck too.

Even in wc vs pak game, kishan was bashing each and every spinner where verma was unable to to so.

Even vs pace if team tries to hide him vs spin , pacer can bowl outside off-stump cutter and he does not have much power game through the off-side.

Ipl teams understands their players specially longterm players, when kkr was keeping rinku for last few overs ppl made noise about it but not understanding that rinku is not that good vs spin and hence they kept him for the role of facing 10-12 balls from pacers and get 20-25 runs.

If Ind has other options then those should be explored and verma should be asked to work on his game.

Kishan still has off-side issue and it stems from him being a bottom-hand batter, he can not deliver much power through off-side due to that, he has figured a way for it for Ind conditions, he tries to maximize anything on legside and tries to hit everything in his zone for 6s, then even if he does not get many runs on off-side he can counter balance it with leg-side play also he has added shots on off-side too.

Finn Allen -- A top hitter in t20s , massive power game, but due to his limitations on off-side finds it hard to be consistent or get big scores consistently , he also has expended his off-side game, now he is bit more consistent but still there is lot left out. But he counters it with the power-game he has. So he can still make any game one-sided if he clicks. verma does not have this kind of power game

He is already integral part of Indian set up. Tilak varma has grade C contract. So he will not be let go that easily. He also has vice captaincy. SO only way they can get something out of him is by changing his role. Basically he should be given a role to go after bowling. There is a better chance Tilak smashing some bowlers in death than Axar patel who looks like a tailender in death overs. One reason they have Axar is to elongate the batting line up by slotting him in smartly. If Axar doesn't work  put someone in.  Not having  proper attacking finishing ine up these middle order guys use this as a li cense to tuk tuk in the middle overs.

No there can not be any fixed or locked slot in t20is, Gill was VC and was seen as captain in-waiting , but it caused issue with team so he was removed from the team.

Tilak can also be removed and asked to work on his game and skill.

This is not old times, now if there is some issue its amplified and if players do not work on it they just regressed.

Rishab is an example they kept selecting him even though his game was not suited and had lot of limitations, he did not work to improve on it and now he is even struggling in ipls.

Yes every players should be given some rope but once an obvious limitation is discovered that should be promptly rectified, if not one issue give rise to another issue. Unless player come up with a proper counter to it.

In t20s declining curve is v.steep.

Once you are part of the contract list they become employees. They wont' drop them. If INdia can't find a better batsman to replace Tilak from this list he will continue playing.  If you see Patidar,  Padikkal are not part of this contract. They will only be brought in when there is an injury.  Even Vaibhav is not part of the set up yet.

Your view is myopic, if you think my opinion is based on solely regionalism, you are being the one biased to Tilak

Is Ben Duckett Telugu? Or is Narendra Modi from my state or caste? Kuch bhi.

Not specifically you but what I've come across. Have friends who want Prabhsimran to be in the team just because he's from Punjab. Have seen this with other people I've interacted with. They want player from their state/region/community to be in the team. We saw that with Samson how Tharoor and Kerala folks were pushing for Samson. Bhogle was pushing KS Bharath like no tomorrow.

My point was that this pushing for players/people from a specific region/state/community is widespread and does play a role in players' selection. That's what I was talking about and unfortunately there's no easy fix. People would rather see the team lose with players from their region/state than see India win without them.

The contract mean alot and means nothing, it very case-by-case. Rutu played in Odis, now shegde, Gurnoor. Harsh

Yes they tend to pick ones who have contract but there is no strict rule to it, if some1 is needed for the side they will make it to the side. They can leap-forg others.

@putrevus pays me to prop up Washi, so he can smack him down and prop up Kohli who pays him. Too complicated for a simple guy like you to understand :wp14:
