Sanju is not dropped.
He will be seen in the Asian Games

Will get his medal like Bishnoi but will be phased out...

Bishnoi Sanju getting gold medals will be decent farewell to both of them :giggle:

Rinku's inclusion hints that they are worried about the finishing incapability of Axar & Tilak. They want someone who can drive the team forward.

But Tilak has the sword hanging on his head, VC or not, he has to make runs and up his SR. His limitations are getting exposed.

Sanju was "rested" probably coz they felt there is no chance for him to open with Vaibhav & Abhishek opening. Prabhsimran too hasn't batted one down much so Ishan Kishan has a window.

Weird that our T20 team has become Leftie dominated while our ODI team is full of Right handed batters.

Samson dropped from odis after a few good knocks a few years back and now he gets kicked out of t20 where he played 3 of the great back to back knocks in our history and now he's getting dropped in the only format he plays

Make it make sense.

As per Vikrant Gupta and various other journos there is no confirmation on rest as he probably won't play any game in England anymore.

This could be it for Sanju, he will probably get his medal from Asia Games with Bishnoi and it could be his final Hurrah.

No one wants to lose out games and let their spots be taken.

These guys will be playing every game non stop.

Post Zimbabwe series there is a massive gap until maybe BD tour (if it happens) or Afg T20s in Delhi in Sept

I don't see the point of making regulars play every series back to back, unless the team management is spooked by the Ireland whitewash and doesn't want to risk Olympic qualification. 10 T20 games in 30 days across 3 countries (plus 3 ODIs for some players) is way more hectic than even IPL.

I'd rather have two sets of players ready, instead of one burnt out main team and a completely untested bench strength. It's a new cycle, so give all contenders a chance and let everyone earn their spot in the first-choice XI.

If WC MOTT Samson can lose his spot that easily after 3 games, why shouldn't we prepare backups for the other spots? Tilak has been out of touch for several months. Iyer and Ishan have also looked average or already burned out.

@express bowling @singhvivek141 @Mosher same PTI reporter who was first to report about red ball Challenger.

Shadow A tour of NZ coming. 2 4dat games + 3 list A 50 over games. Selectors keen on giving a run to Ashok and Mayank a run

Mayank must remain fit...atleast for 50 overs if not Tests.

Hope Kartik Tyagi is watching this as well, he cant afford to miss the bus. First time in years we are seeing a push by selectors and coach/captain to include pacers who are tall and fast. We had such time in 2010-11 when we unearthed Umesh & Varun and then in 2016 when Bumrah came as the new ball partner for Nehraji.

This should motivate Sushant as well, bowled well for JH in SMAT, unlucky in IPL but if he can perform well again this season, being a left armer he can become a serious contender.

I think Sanju will be back...if not in T20s then probably in ODIs for KLR.

T20s is tough for him coz Vaibhav is a generational talent and Abhishek is the batting backbone. He has to bat down but Ishan Kishan with his resurgence is giving a tough competition, though Sanju gives that RHB angle for a leftie dominated XI.

Ckt team composed of 15 players.

Sanju is an opener and Ind is looking to give few chances to Viabhav , there is no point in keeping Sanju in the 15 if he is not playing , better add a new player who can be on bench.

There is nothing in this which does not make sense, if viabhav does not play they say he is been undermined and if he plays and some1 else has to sit-out then the other play is undermined..

You can not have cake and eat it too, there will always be some1 who was going to be dropped from top 3- Sanju/Abhishek/Kishan if they had to make place for viabhav.

There can be only 11 players in playing 11.

Yes Sanju can be on bench in ICC events , but in bilaterals there is no point

If viabhav clicks at intnl level then sanju will only be back-up and will be out of 15 member squad, he is being phased out  and will only comeback if Abhishek/Viabhav does not perform.

there is no point of having 4 openers in 15 with one of them being 31 yo, there is no point to bench sanju , its better to bring some1 new and have them on the bench.
