We have many top order options while Tilak is not ideal he is a solid pace hitter down the order and is only 23.   Upside is there.

It's one thing to select Ashok, Mayank, and Yash but it's another to give them a match. What if the final 11 has Shivam Dubey and Prince sharing the new ball.

 

While Prince is good, but he doesn't stand a chance in front of the other 3. Shivam Dubey doesn't deserve a place in the team and I don't know which magic wand has been working for him. Perhaps the same one as that did for Mukesh Kumar.

Can these be acquired skills? These guys are talented and have good foundational batting skills. There's got to be a way to train them to pick up other skills so they can be used where needed. Arya, for instance, is not getting in as an opener any time soon. If he can spend 6 months to a year transforming himself into a down-the-order hitter ...?

 

But then again, I can understand why he would not want to do that. He is an opener in IPL, he earns his living there ... why change anything?

Fresh squad would likely lose all games.  Zimbabwe is a better T20 unit than BD Ireland and associates looking at their performance in T20 World cup

That is fine. You get to see more options. I think India lacks players with hunger. Indians achieved already the pinnacle. There is distinct lack of motivation.  May be it is Iyer thing. He is not getting the best out of players. BUt it appears they all need a break.

Only a team like India can drop a player with legendary big tournament performances, who is not even past his best, like Sanju to bring in Prabsimran! 
 

It is time to stop feeling sorry about a team like India. It deserves all its failures.
