That however does not change the fact that Chelsea are the least deserving winners of the CL along with Liverpool a few years ago. Bayern are normally quite ordinary defensively- even more so without Alaba and Badstuber- Chelsea however took the safety first, little risk approach and never even tested their defence. Yes they were playing away but that is not an excuse- when Bayern edged out Real at the Bernabeau they played football. Had Chelsea chosen to do so they would have caused Bayern problems. Also for those fans and commentators who point to Chelsea's 'passion' and defensive discipline and organisation, that alone does not make them deserved winners. Bayern were no less passionate or less disciplined. Tymoshchuk (a defensive midfielder) was totally untroubled by Drogba for most of the game. The better side lost this final. As an aside I am happy for the older guard in Chelsea- particularly Lampard also Cole and Drogba- only for having come close a few times over the years do they deserve this.
